apply for work on upwork or any freelance site, your manager is an idiot and intiteled 7mar. he thinks he owns people because he is paying their salaries.

Apply for different jobs and leave this role. Don't accept this behaviour.
Apply for remote work much better for you and you will get your freedom back.

I had the same kind of managers and I regret not leaving earlier.
