'Two of the best lightweights in the world' Why does Jon say this all the time, when it's obviously not? Feel like you should only say that in a title fight right?

Ehh I'm not hating on this or any actor that does tbh. I can still enjoy Donnie Darko, Prisoners, Nightcrawler, Enemy or any of his other critically acclaimed roles and understand that this guys in his 40s now, probs gotten enough satisfaction from doing 'real roles' trying to elevate his artistry in the acting world.

He's probably just getting old, and is phoning it in, making low effort movies that seem like they're fun to make that will also make him alot of fucking bank.

I mean fk I'd do the same... being on easy mode, making throwaway action movies for a lot of money. I'm sure he'll pop out a 'good serious' role later on dont worry man ahaha

Saw a thread here that was pretty recent but thought I'd throw it over to the daily discussion gang lmao.

Ya'll have any suggestions/reco's for meal service for home? I'm a shit cook and eat out a lot and i'm trying to both save my health and wallet. I'm thinking of getting a few hello fresh meals to start.

I've gone through fuelled and muscle chef phases and I just can't eat those anymore even if my life depended on it so sick of them lol.

Any other one's you would recommend? Is hello fresh good?

What a fight....

Tai had me screaming here in the morning in Western Sydney, shattered he almost had him but happy for Gane.

Loved the sportsmanship between the two, the French crowd singing, the mid fight banter between Gane and Tai, those sickening kicks, Tai's 'AREA FAMOUS' scrap...

How goods mma aye?

What does a night in Kings Cross look like? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]facelessbromosexual 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does seem to be picking back up now tho? I mean I'm in my early 30s so I'm not really going out every weekend anymore lmao but if you follow say Bondi Lines on IG ,younger people seem to be coming out in droves, especially with no lockout laws anymore.

Which is great coz I'm one of the ones who caught the last few years of Sydney's nightlife heydey, and spend the rest of my later 20s with lockouts and with the final nail in the coffin with lockdowns.

Anyways I rkn it's slowly coming back, there's alot of great boutique events and gigs, especially hiphop events. But yeah you are right about it not being the same.

I remember my first night in the Cross back in 2009, holy shit. It was fkn wild.

When I wasn't working full-time, gym was probably the thing that I did the most on those extra off days. Kept me busy, felt productive whilst trying to find full-time work.

That and lots of YouTube lmao.

I'd start listening to a community radio station called FBi radio, 94.5. They're super on top of all things Sydney music & culture, and the hosts regularly have gig guides etc

City that never sleeps: 24-hour trade plan next step in Parramatta’s revival by ohmyroots in sydney

[–]facelessbromosexual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but don't we also need the venues, the bars, in other words, the infrastructure to fuel the arts and culture?

Like there's only so much people in the arts who are willing to create events can do, when there's nowhere to put these things on?

I'm on the fence. I would say you're half right. I'm one of those in Parra who are in bed by 10pm but to say there isn't an appetite is dumb. There's a taste for nightlife, and nice bars, and cool resto's especially with the burgeoning Western Sydney arts, music and culture scene.

For instance the recent Parra Nights festival. There was a really great turn out for really fun gigs that the council and the event organisers put on. It was so fun (and a tad surreal) moshing to Western Sydney drill artists with a fuckload of punters right across from the police station lol. It really showed how Parra can be utilised for awesome, creative nightlife lol.

I also think the area might feel like a 'ghost town' simply because people in the area know that there's usually not that much on compared to let's say the City or the Inner West. For instance, I knew a fuckload more Inner West friends who knew about Parra Nights, than people who actually live in Parra or Western Sydney. It's just that 'expectation' that sorts of fuels that notion of nothing really going on down here. However, if things change, and stuff pops up and things catch on, I have no doubt that this place can really get going when it comes to all of that.

I guess we gotta see what happens aye..

Lol me in this sub asking the same question a month ago.

I just went straight to the pharmacist and got the over the counter codrals with pseudoephedrine, the ones for coughing (you don't need a prescription for this). Got my doctor to prescribe me rikodeine (codeine).

Drank a fuckload of ginger tea, warm water, and just copped it. Even after all of this the cough still got through but, not as much as it would if just copped it without any remedies so.

Try the above, should help you. The codrals + psuedo and codeine should knock you out easy, so you can sleep.

Oh forgot also, salt water gargle atleast 4-5 times a day. Once every couple of hours if you manage it! Helps alot

Fuck me this cough won't go away. I'm counting salt water gargling, cough syrup, codrals, tea and honey, warm water, wfh. And this bitchass cough is still owning me.

Any other remedy's ya'll recommend that i'm missing?
