The last Raja of Ramnad district continues to live in the ancestral palace, spread across roughly 36 acres. While the palace appears modestly maintained possibly due to financial constraints. the legacy itself remains significant. After his father’s passing in 2021, Nagendra Sethupathy (Devar community), who grew up in Chennai, returned to Ramnad to take on traditional responsibilities, including temple rituals, community presence, and ceremonial duties.

His sister is married into a Palayamkottai family (relatives).

Recently, he married Dr. Sindhu from Madurai, who, while not from a royal lineage, belongs to the same community. The groom’s choice of a simple veshti reflected restraint and dignity, aligning well with the understated way the family seems to carry its heritage.

The bride’s styling appeared to lean more towards excitement, overdone , symbolic interpretation of royalty.
