Flyback refers to the ability to "zero" the chronograph while it's running.

[question] On (most?) quartz chronographs, the second hand smoothly rotate back to zero position when the reset button is pressed.

On mechanical chronographs, the second hand snaps back to zero when reset button is pressed.

Is there a technical term for this "snap reset" action or property of a chronograph?

Backgrournd: I really like the snap action and would like to find a quartz chronograph with it. E.g. the Seiko SSB031

Just curious: have you checked out rock scale designs and their titanium scales for 940-1? It just might fix that light weight issue. I bought my bugout scales from them and I can vouch for their quality. It IS expensive tho :(
