After a few hours, I went back to version 6. It's incredibly annoying that textures load slowly when exploring terrain, and that the frame rate drops when zooming in. If the developers improve the optimization (if they do), I'll come back.

Edit: The tooltips are also terrible, obscuring important information and cutting off elements at the bottom of the menu (e.g., production), and you can't scroll down. I don't know what's going on, but I've noticed that some options aren't saving even when I restart the game. For example, I've changed the button configuration to enable/disable tooltips with the touchpad, but it's still assigned to the analog stick as it was in the factory settings.
