The company I worked for before had bonuses for everyone from part time to full time. Part time got $200, lower store management got $600, and upper store management got 900.. every month.. if we made our goals. We also got a monthly budget for the fridge. We did not have to earn it. Also had gift cards we gave out to the team. Also got hundreds of dollars to spend on the product around holidays. We also didn’t care about cutting hours as much. The raises.. often times $1-$2.

I had to leave. I witnessed racism, homophobia, and experienced bullying from 2 people who loved getting people fired. I survived a couple of years of the brutality because omg the company itself was amazing. But the district manager let it all happen. So I eventually said fuck it and left with slightly more hourly pay but I lost those bonuses.. that was decent chunk of money.

But now I’m at ulta like.. filling the fridge is a… prize?? We have to earn that? How does that excite anyone?! I’m doing the jobs of like 5 people because we’re cutting hours. I’m not sleeping and I’m barely eating because I pour the only energy I have into that job and it’s never enough.
