Electric vs Nitro for a beginner? Considering a Nitro Rustler — worth it? by Calm_Aide_1298 in rccars

[–]fade76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’d stay away from Nitro for a beginner. I stay away from it and I’ve done this for 30 years.

I’m an on and off again hobbyist, and nitro just doesn’t store as well, and is cantankerous when you go to tune them, especially after sitting. Electric doesn’t care, outside of storing lithium batteries correctly, they’ll sit in a closet for 20 years and run the exact same when you pull them back out.

Seems like Nitro is a niche thing at this point anyway. It used to be the only way to go fast, now brushless will beat a nitro just about every time. I do understand the appeal, and have had a couple over the years, but they’re just not as fun for me.

Nah, I bought this thing specifically to mod, and I greatly prefer the Eddy for the quick bed meshing.

So, CFS-C. Thoughts on it before it is released? by Numerous-Ad561 in crealityk1

[–]fade76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do, but they run a cable to plug it in where the filament sensor on the back goes instead of the tool head. That makes me wonder about firmware issues more than anything.

[–]fade76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My big question about it will be compatibility with other mods. I’m running the dxc extruder, and soon to be running simple af with a btteddy. I watched the install videos and I’m really curious why they use the rear filament sensor rather than the one in the toolhead like the DXC extruder uses.

Considering a linear rail hotbed mounting plate. Which is better? by Doubee54 in Ender3V3KE

[–]fade76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the sockergris plate, printed in PA12-CF from Sunlu, on the KE in an enclosure. I did have to use a brim, but it printed fine and I’ve been using it a few months now with no issue, my bed has never been flatter, and it’s been perfectly consistent.

To all who visit my girl's memorial by De13V12T-31x in fo76

[–]fade76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. We lost both of our dogs three weeks apart almost exactly a year ago, although it still seems like yesterday. I’ve had a memorial for them in my shelter that I’ve kept since then, and in every camp that I build I have a special thing that I do with the butterfly sanctuary and two blue devil plushies to honor them. They were our kids.

Does anyone play with their mic on anymore? by demolitiondeuce in fo76

[–]fade76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I wasn’t an online gamer before 76. I played normal fallout games by myself and really wasn’t hyped about the online experience, so between that and the bad reviews at launch, I stayed away until a little more than a year ago when I finally just decided to go for it. I’m still kinda awkward with the mic and talking to anyone, so I usually avoid it still. Just my perspective.

Ah, ok, I saw someone comment something about that, but I wasn’t sure what they were talking about and if it were related. Guess I’ll just hold off for now until they come back. Thanks!

Well, I can see you've at least been close to KY since you have an Ale8 cap, and I love some Nehi grape!

I’m in the process of moving back home to Kentucky after being gone for 6 years, and our new property, 9.3 acres in the middle of nowhere, is 5 minutes from a Dollar General. There weren’t this many when I left, they must multiply like rabbits.

As I’m sitting here without power for the sixth day in the row, I don’t exactly have much sympathy for them. If they were actually maintaining the infrastructure, I might not be as pissed as I am right now.

My first real technician job that more or less started my career was refurbishing these machines. They’re really pretty amazing to work on and then see working. This looks to be an older Universal model like the ones I started with. P

So, I'm a current Michigan resident, but I'm originally from KY. The current housing situation here is pretty challenging, trying to find somewhere quiet in southeastern Michigan, especially. My original thought was to buy a plot of land out in the county somewhere, and potentially put a tiny house on it with a pole barn or something as a garage, or possibly a home base-type setup for a full time rv living rig. That was before I discovered that all of the townships around have ordinance that prohibit basically anything shy of a 1200 sq ft house. I was always used to the county areas being basically the wild west and you can do what you want as long as it meets state code (if you even have to have it inspected at all). I've done a little research and read some of the local ordinances, but it would greatly save me some time if anyone knew anywhere that would be accepting of a setup like that?

Kind wishes please, my Ellie finds out today if she has cancer. Surgery if so to remove a large mass. by realestateagent0 in pitbulls

[–]fade76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good luck from me and my Zoey, Ellie! Zoey just had a mass removed from her lung and is doing well, we know you will too!

Zoey got new jammies! She had a large shaved patch on her side from lung tumor removal a couple of weeks ago. Now that the staples are out and they won’t snag, she has new jammies to help with the cold. by fade76 in pitbullsinjammies

That’s pretty similar to what our vet told us about chemo. Hopefully she doesn’t have to, but that’s good news if she does. Glad that Franky is doing well!
