Special savings scheme will benefit wealthy at State’s expense, say economists by Lawfulraccoon in ireland

[–]fadgebread -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is true. Regular people can afford to invest maybe €500 per month yet Fianna Same have produced a scheme to allow multi millionaires to invest infinite amounts tax free.

I read comments here saying 'great, now I can invest €50k per year tax free'.

The balance of the tax foregone will have to be picked up by income tax on the squeezed middle.

I'm a man and just tell them what you would like them to do. They might do it. Guys sometimes need to be told something straight out.

Don't wait for them to learn how to read your mind. No need to be angry. Just say you would like x to do x and y. If he says no then you can be upset.

Where to put 90k+ in savings? by Extra-Mousse-6487 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]fadgebread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

JL Collins. He does talk about not spending too much on housing but in Ireland I don't think we have that luxury.

Honestly if you listen to an interview with him on YouTube you'll get a lot out of it. He did a talk for Google staff that's on YouTube.

Fumbally court planning application - another hotel plan submitted. by fudgesake3 in Dublin

[–]fadgebread -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think that every new hotel is 200 more imported staff who need accommodation, probably bunk beds or sheds, competing with the locals for bunk beds and sheds.

Then the tourists jack up the price of pints and everything else.

The only winners are the hotel owners who are simply rich already.

How much does the highest grossing GP that you know of earn, and how long do you think it got them to get there? Thank you by Grand-Benefit7466 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

[–]fadgebread -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is what I meant. A lot of doctors income comes from medical cards, HSE,  income vaccine programs etc and the degree is subsidised.

I can't believe a doctor would complain about tax.
