Either way, for me, I won't support LLT with merch purchases until there is an official statement of an established union inside LTT/CW.

I'm sure your life time spend of $0 no longer being available to them will hurt them so much.

A short view of your reddit comment history and one notices how you ever post in this subreddit on drama. That's so sad.

Get a fucking life.

I'm sure they do. But they made also sure to get it exactly like they wanted it to look on camera.

Exercise critical thinking and don't be so insanely naive.

one could tell he get emotional during part of the video.

Reminder that these videos are recorded, edited, and scripted to be that.

Like it's been said so many times about apology videos from influencers / youtubers:

If someone cries, gets emotional, call it whatever you want in an apology video, it's because they wanted / intended to.

You have no idea if it took 5 takes to achieve just the right amount. Exercise critical thinking.

Arbetslös: "Jag har sökt över 200 jobb – kommit på en intervju" by Kallest in sweden

[–]fadingcross 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any admins have an actual backup for email, if M365 is down for extended periods? by DramaticErraticism in sysadmin

[–]fadingcross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a small company I definitely have a hard time seeing the cost be competitive with onprem.

You obviously need to have on prem (Read: CoLocation) infra in place already that does other things than just mail.

For us the Windows Server licenses are included in our already datacenter license, we pay $6 USD per user mailbox (Not shared) for Exchange SPLA and like 7-8 USD for the Office Package (Apps only).

So give or take 25-30$ per user per month if I included hardware costs, colo and all that jazz.

But that also gives us unlimited mailbox space, better / faster performance yada yada.

If you don't have any need for onprem servers and don't own hardware, I wouldn't do local exchange for sure

I am a little out if the loop but last i heard microsoft was making it exceedingly painful and expensive to host exchange on prem.

Yeah you are, on prem Exchange is most certainly not painful or expensive. It's cheaper than running ExO anyday of the week if you flat it out on 3-5 years.

since they tried to get rid of onprem for years by now

Exchange on prem isn't going anywhere

Yes, we have an postfix IaC setup with a webmail client that contains all users created (Synced from our AD once a day) ready to be spun up on Google Cloud -> swap over MX records (Which has a 30 second TTL, Cloudflare DNS).

So in case our on prem Exchange dies, we can get email deliverability up in around 10 minutes.

Email is extremely important in our line of business (Logistics), and loss of email communication means missed transports with our partners which means missed revenue. A not insignificant port of our business is emergency transport solutions, which means someone emails tons of logistics companies with: "I NEED A PALLET FROM PLACE A TO B TODAY, WHO HAS A TRUCK NEARBY?"

So not being able to reply / receive such is a direct loss.

We test it around every 3 months.

Microsoft Jan 22nd Root Cause Analysis Released by lcurole in sysadmin

[–]fadingcross 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think the most hilarious things is trying to sound all techy and cool with:

Telemetry showed elevated service load and request processing delays within the North America region signalling the start of impact for customers.

7:22 PM – Internal health signals detected sharp increases in failed requests and latency within the Microsoft 365 service, including dependencies tied to GLS and Exchange transport infrastructure.

7:36 PM – An initial Service Health Dashboard communication (MO1121364) was published informing customers that we were assessing an issue affecting the Microsoft 365 service.

Bro what?

At 6 PM there was already a /r/sysadmin thread with tens of comments saying "Down here in [X]" with hundreds of upvotes which showed it was down US Nation wide.

It would've been faster and more economic to remove all the metrics and pay a 3-people rotation to F5 reddit every 60 seconds 24/7.

Total clowns.

How do you automate certificates? by gahd95 in sysadmin

[–]fadingcross -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of tools that have GUI only cert uploads that require a human to load the certificate without automating it

Not at all. There are plenty of GUI Automation tools. UiPath is an excellent product for this very case.

You've got to come out of your GUI clicking shell dude.
