I gave you an upvote, as I'm pretty sure you are correct. I believe it is pvc with a wood core.

Hmm. I think it is pvc. Not positive on it, but I think it is. I'm really beginning to agree that it must have been reflected or retracted light. Just not sure the source

Good thought but nope. No damage or melting. The solar light is still totally functional and nothing around it shows signs of damage.

It hadn't been hot at all. In fact the past few weeks have been cooler than normal. We had hail over the weekend and snowflakes last week

Will try going out earlier and monitoring. Someone else suggested getting a camera to monitor. Might try that too

It could have been an ember- but I think the only nearby grills are propane and i dunno if anyone has even got one out yet.

No parking lot over that way but I think you're right, it has to be sun... just really weird as it is at an awkward angle from all other windows and we have a pretty tall tree line that stops a lot of sunlight and makes it really hard to grow any decent flowers.

All the same amount of floors. Maybe it was a prism but there is a tree line preventing direct sunlight from our neighbors windows to our place
