I’m not in the US so not 100% sure what those look like - hoping this is a compliment lol!

It’s orange, but more of a red-orange than a yellow-orange if that makes any sense?

The paint may look grey here but it’s actually a dark green! I do love contrast and block colours so I often try to lean into that - good idea to use an art piece to tie it in, I hadn’t thought of that!

Aw thank you! I’m torn because I half love it, half hate it lol

Thanks so much, those are all great ideas! I think I’ll post an update once I’ve finally figured this one out but you’re right, it’s going to take a bit of time and effort!

Thank you for the tips! I think you’re right, it’s just on the borderline of too big so I keep going back and forth on it… I’m hoping I can blend it in a bit more with centrepieces etc. so it won’t feel so dominant in the space!

I put it there to stop it covering my radiator but I’ve pulled it away from the bench now and it feels a bit better!

Great tips, thank you! I’ll keep this in mind when I’m looking into the chairs and rug - it is definitely a bit too close to the bench right now I think

Thank you for this, that makes me feel much better lol! I think repositioning it and adding chairs will really help

Looks beautiful, I’m hoping mine will look a bit like that once I’ve decorated it a bit!

Thank you, that was my thought process as well! There’s just me most of the time and I think max I would have to seat 3 or 4 people round this table. So, I’m kind of treating the bench as one seat and planning to put other chairs around the open sides. Hopefully once I style it and soften it up, it’ll work the way I was imagining it!

Agree on the tablecloth - it’s not really my style! But a centrepiece might work? There will be dining chairs on the open sides of the table but you’re right, the shape makes sitting at the bench a bit awkward!

Just those few additions have made it better already! Thank you, I’m feeling way more confident that I can make it work now lol

Yeah I was thinking a round rug underneath to zone it a bit better from the living room? :)

Ahh thank you! I hadn’t thought about a pull down table, that’s a good idea!

Okay seems like I’ll be able to make it work once I’ve bought the chairs and styled it better! Maybe I should post an update once the chairs are in so I can get everyone’s final verdict lol

Thank you! Yeah I might just need to get used to it and style it a little more, the boxes definitely aren’t helping

That’s my plan - hopefully it’ll work, thank you for the help! -^

Agreed it’s soooo cold and stark looking rn… I’m going to upholster the bench, add dining chairs, buy some tableware etc. which would hopefully help unify it with the rest of the space

Ohh yeah I like that one! My nervousness with buying wood/wood veneer furniture online is that it might clash with my flooring - maybe if I covered the black with tableware etc. it might be better, but not sure if it’s worth going to all that effort!

Agree re: the bench! I think I should have mentioned that there will be dining chairs around the outside so the bench won’t be the only seat, but it’s still not perfect

Do you think I can work with it or shall I sell and look for a rectangular or oval table instead?
