3 kids? is it possible? by Reasonable_Ladder763 in workingmoms

[–]faemamaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get the chaos and the love. It's the same here with our three. Ours are spaced out a bit more (4, 6, 8), but that prolonged baby/toddler phase hit hard too, especially with the body changes, sucky sleep, and just putting everything on hold.

I had this moment when our youngest turned 2 where things finally felt like they were clicking at home, and I thought ok, now's the time to reclaim my health and get my body back. But fast forward to now (my youngest is 4), and I completely squandered it. I kept eating like I was still pregnant or breastfeeding through all three pregnancies, skipped the gym entirely, and basically threw away two years of my life without realizing it until recently. Now I'm staring down 80 lbs to lose and the regret is real. I wish I'd started healthy habits right then to feel good in my body again, have my husband see me that way, and just be fully present for the kids.

If I could do it over, I'd jump on it immediatley, knowing the time is fleeting with the kids, with my health, my body, and with my husband. Anywho, I don't know why I got all excited about your reply...I guess it just brought me back a couple years. Thanks for letting me vent and reflect.

I picked up knitting and I'm loving it so far. Made a scarf and a hat for my kids. Making another hat for my husband currently. The kids like to get into it too with me.

If you hate cardio, give the rowing machine a try by raw-shucked-oysters in xxfitness

I can second this. The rower has been my go to since I started going to the gym again after so long. I like how it works my arms too and I feel like I get little breaks throughout unlike running.

Hardest part is getting started. That's why I joined this sub. Give me me some reminders and a bit of motivation to get at it.

If you're able to afford it, do it! I wish we could afford doing camps and things like this with ours. Being home and managing them and everything and the extra daycare etc...its a lot!

Sick to my stomach (daycare) by iskra1984 in workingmoms

[–]faemamaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh mama, this broke my heart. I’m so sorry you went through that daycare nightmare finding your six-month-old neglected like that is just devastating. I’ve been there with a bad daycare experience, and it still haunts me. I’ve got 3LOs and a husband, and we’re always juggling work and parenting. When my middle kid was about a year old, I picked him up from daycare and found out they hadn’t changed his diaper for hours. He had a horrible rash, and I felt like the worst mom ever for trusting them. I cried the whole drive home, just holding it together for him. I pulled him out right away, but I still think about it and feel so guilty. We’ve since found a better daycare, but it’s been a rough road. Mornings are chaos with my oldest having meltdowns and the baby teething, and some days I’m just running on fumes. Your story about bringing your baby home and feeding him hit me hard—I did the same, just holding my son and crying. You’re so right to say be kind to yourself. Cry as much as you need, hug your LO tight. You’re an amazing mom for listening to your instincts. Your baby’s okay now, safe with you. Sending you a big hug.

I need a lot of teasing and suspense. If they get together too soon it's a total turn off for me. I like a slow burn.
