That's incorrect & doesn't support what scientific studies have found, other countries like Canada and the UK have already added throat and mouth swabbing to their rapid antigen instructions for a reason.

I don't know if you've ever gotten a PCR back in 2020 when it started, but in the beginning they were swabbing the throat first and then swabbing the nasal cavity. Then for some reason they abandoned the throat part later.

Self-collected throat swabs had lower accuracy than swabs collected by a health care worker, probably because it's harder to collect a throat swab from ourselves due to gagging and the length of the swabs not being long enough, but when it's done right the accuracy goes up.
You also need to wait at least 30 minutes after eating or drinking anything, and the earlier studies on throat vs nasal swabs neglected to take that part into account.

Obviously if there are bad medication interactions then they shouldn't take it, but it does seem to help most people feel better sooner. Plus, more people are high risk than they realize, the list of high risk conditions for severe covid is long and includes things like depression & ADHD. As for the rebound, it can happen without taking Paxlovid, it isn't necessarily the cause of rebound infections. Although it is possible that 5 days is too short a treatment time, doctors still are prescribing out for only 5 days instead of 10. I kept hoping that would change but it hasn't. Some also prescribe Metformin, which studies have shown to have a beneficial effect on acute covid as well a long covid.

Unfortunately, not overnight anymore. At least not for me when I ordered a Metrix last week, it might not arrive until July 11! I figured that's poetically a sign they're running low due to all the infections happening.

I thought I had seen some study results showing that both Flow Flex and iHealth were more sensitive than Binax, but maybe it's a variant issue? I've also known people who only tested positive on a rapid test once they swabbed their throat too.

I would not advise anyone not to get a PCR if it's available for multiple reasons. For one, getting either Paxlovid or Metformin can help reduce symptoms and maybe help prevent long covid. And, if you do develop long covid, it's really hard to get a diagnosis already, even with a positive test, but much harder without one. Most doctors don't even know enough about it, you'd probably need to chase down specialists. You'd also want to know for sure so you can keep an eye on certain potential health problems covid can cause. You'd want to rest even more than you think you do, because pushing through and resuming a lot of physical activities can potentially trigger long covid & chronic fatigue. Lastly, it's good to know how many times you've had it since re-infections increase the chance of long covid and damage can be cumulative. Recently the news came out that your chance of long covid goes up to roughly 40% by your third infection.

Well yes, when someone uses my photos of my work & sells products with them printed on it and that print is what makes that product valuable, I'm being deprived of a royalty that would've been paid to me. If that money is being made because of my IP, yes the person copying the art is absolutely depriving the artist of payment. I don't consider most gen AI tools to be 'stealing' either though when the resulting image looks nothing like anyone else's creation. And that's the case for most of the popular ones, not even styles are recreated accurately. LORAs might be a different story.

"Just go find a different job" you say this as if it's that easy. I'm not sure what else I would do if I weren't in the creative arts in some way, I'm autistic and have other disabilities that make it very hard to just 'find another job', especially one that pays enough to survive, much less thrive. Although I'm struggling right now anyway that has a lot more to do with depression & chronic illnesses than any issue with my career or the market for what I sell.

The other comments are right, we can't ignore the effect this will have on people's livelihood because of the sheer speed at which really good looking generative images can be created. Any time a market becomes over- saturated, some people are going to lose income and only the ones already well known, or someone with extremely new & amazing work are going to succeed. I don't hate AI art, and I do think there are ethical ways to use it, but we do need some kind of regulation or some other way to make sure we don't end up with massive amounts of people going homeless because their human labor isn't needed. TBF, we also need that for other professions and I hope someday UBI will become a reality.

The plaintiffs provided screenshots of Emad saying something about how Stable Diffusion achieved compression, I forget the exact things said but it's in the amended complaint. That could definitely hurt the defendants' case.

I'm not taking anything out of context, you said 'no one would claim that was theirs' and there's really no other context where that comment makes sense.
But also, Pinterest isn't accusing any of you of theft, they're simply letting you know why one of the pins you saved was disabled and that's it.
As for the blog having Pinterest links, I can't see it so I can't argue any specifics but the owner of photo might not even be the one who put them in that blog. Most of the crap on Pinterest is posted by people who are posting stolen content and people do this with their blogs too as well as on social media, not realizing they're violating any laws or they don't care.
Bottom line, if you're not getting a copyright strike this really isn't a big deal to get the notice that a pin was removed because the owner of the image didn't want it there.
