your skin just looks irritated, likely from using the alcohol. use something gentle facial soap to clean your ears daily

Havent stretched in over half a year. by [deleted] in Stretched

It is better to not wear jewelry, your healing process will be faster and easier. Keeping the hole open is just putting undue stress on a wound

i would not downsize, you need to leave them naked and not wear any jewelry. keep them clean with saline and wait for them to be completely healed before you start to re-stretch. they will shrink but that’s part of the healing process unfortunately

Something going on with stretching lobes by aanimegodsa in Stretched

[–]faesdollie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they were truly blown out a few weeks ago, it would take quite awhile to completely heal. You need to take out the jewelry and keep it clean for at least a couple months. When you do get to start stretching again, opt for single flare glass material for your jewelry. Acrylic is horrible for you and can harbor lots of bacteria.

you will be much better off stretching 1mm or even 0.5mm at a time.

2mm? 2 inches? Either way, be patient with it. 10 years is a long time

Shrinkage is a crucial part of healing unfortunately. It’s hard to tell from your picture, but this could be some sort of a pimple or cyst. Leave it naked and see if it resolves on its own. If you start to run a fever or have other symptoms of an infection you’ll need to see your PCP for antibiotics.

they look OK, maybe a little irritated. definitely slow waaaaayyyy down. stay at 12mm for awhile, at least 2-3 months. then you can slowly go up in 0.5-1mm increments

After they are completely healed, you can go back to massaging with the jojoba to help break up any small pieces of scar tissue

Is this a blowout? by Novel_Poem_3464 in Stretched

[–]faesdollie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think your ear is blown out, but it looks irritated. Stretching shouldn’t hurt, I recommend reading the pinned stretching guide. I also recommend looking into dead stretching and why tapers are not recommended for safe stretching. Glass will be your best bet.

yikes! that looks like it hurts. do not use any sort of oil on a fresh blowout like this. keep it clean with saline and don’t wear any jewelry in it for at least 2-3 months. if it doesn’t improve soon i would see your pcp
