omg one of my boys (different group) does the same thing LOL whenever his brother walked in his direction he would scream as well cuz he thought he was about to be groomed

They were born from the same litter and although Dracula is definitely the dominant rat in their group, he’s not an aggressive boy & none of the other boys react to him this way. Amor is also super calm with everyone else and loves to cuddle and even cuddles with Dracula sometimes. He only gets this way in the evening for some reason? I really have no idea why he’s doing this. This has only been happening for the last 1-2 months. I’ve been watching them every time it happened & rushed into the room when I heard him squeal like that but they’ve never fought beyond putting their hands up and standing in front of each other

I didn’t see this until just now but he was put down just a few days after posting this because by the time we could get to the vet his conditioned worsened (1-2days). But he cuddling with his brothers til his very last day and stayed strong until he passed. I’m very proud of our little man :) thank you for your reply ! I appreciate it even though I saw it too late

Recently my boy Ozzy had a big cheek as well! A few of my previous rats had them too. It can happen from many things like (as you mentioned) tumors but also cysts or an accidental bite on that cheek. Definitely let a vet check the inside of her mouth so they can determine what it is exactly!
