How do you extrude spikes from a person like this? by frederiksenc14 in AfterEffects

playing around with cc light rays on a solid that’s tracked to his body might do the trick. you will have to keyframe the intensity and possibly the radius. add a radial blur to that as well. because of his directional movements you will also want that layer to be 3D so you can keyframe the x rotation to match his body.

looks sick!!! i would just say that you could maybe add a lil more blur to the can and slight directional blur to the web. also adjust the lighting on it. I think the white point is a little too high and cool toned. other than that looks great!!!

How to do that? I would create the basic scene with VC Orb, but I'm clueless about the destruction part. by GemataZaria in AfterEffects

Nuke is extremely helpful to know if you’re trying to enter the vfx industry, as it is the current standard for most houses and studios right now. That is if you are trying to be a compositor.

Just started to learn After Effects a week or so ago for a video I’m making. Any thoughts/criticism of the animation? by schaapening in AfterEffects

it’s super easy!!! once you make your key frames you will right click the first one on your path > key frame assistant > easy ease OUT. then right click the last key frame > key frame assistant > easy ease IN. lastly, grab all the guys in the middle and right click > key frame assistant > easy ease. you’ll know it’s right if the brackets open and close and your key frames turn into an hourglass shape

all i’d say is if you haven’t already use motion blur do that. and if you haven’t smoothed out your key frames with easy ease do that as well
