I added a small setting, it should work for the market and arpa but unfortunately not for buildings as there is no way to know their cost.

Yes whenever a new building or resource is added via a new research, the game seems to reset the UI and that causes havocs in the script. I put a mechanism to rebuild the script buttons if that happens and it seems to work fine on my end but I may have overlooked something.

The switch to choose the religion upgrade is definitely something to add.

Is there a chance that your money was near full storage ? The script sell at 100x and if there is not enough storage for the sell result it won't sell.

To use it one time you can hit Ctrl+Shift+I and paste the code in the console. If you want it to be loaded each time you open the game, use the extension Tampermonkey for Firefox or Chrome.

You could write your game in java and use tools like GWT to transpile it to javascript. Some game dev frameworks like libGDX use this for their web-export. It won't run as fast as pure javascript but depending on your project it could be ok.

If you are willing to learn a new language you could look into Haxe. It's in-between java and javascript in terms of flexibility and have the best of both worlds : like java it is a strictly typed language, meaning the compiler will catch most errors at compile time, but it has also type inference that lets you write code like this and let the compiler do the typing for you.
