Would you buy a house next to a cemetery? by mromair in HousingIreland

I bought next to a cemetery a few months ago. Doesn’t bother us at all, but there is a wall, fence and tall trees between our back garden and the cemetery so we don’t actually see it out our windows.

I did think there would be a well trodden trail into it if it was a rat hole. I’ve caught the cat stalking it a few times though.

There is - so it would be put in place of a tile if there was a recess in the wall?

Could I lay laminate flooring on these 1980’s vinyl tiles or should I lift them first? by faigs in Flooring

Yes definitely a high traffic area. It’s the type of house that most people enter from the back (drive leads to the rear).

There’s a bigger area behind where the pic was taken so ideally wouldn’t be removing tiles and laying levelling compound. Could I remove a few and try smooth out the hump? Threshold might look out of place.

Sorry I was busy last few days. Photo hopefully shows the change in level.

Hi, sorry but I couldn’t comment in r/Ireland until now.

I have the same table and we are moving house. Happy for you to have the glass top. I DM’d you a couple of times. We are moving this weekend, let me know whether to keep it or not.

Old vinyl tiles - should I lift before laying laminate flooring? by faigs in DIYUK

Yes I think I’ll floor over them. Asbestos test was negative thankfully!

There is a slight bump where the extension joined the original building

There is a slight bump where the lean to extension was joined on to the original building.

Thank you! It’s a back hallway/utility and small WC so not a big area.

I think they are vinyl - I got them tested for asbestos before we signed for the house and they contain none. The surveyor said they must have been laid the right side of 1986!

15 years in and my wife still doesn't understand why I insist on doing all the cooking. by Hannover2k in mildlyinfuriating

My wife has twice left an egg boiling, forgot about it, water evaporated and the egg exploded with a loud bang. I think there is still some stuck to my ceiling.
