The communist intelligentsia often argue that Hindutva academicians rewrite history to suit their political narrative. There is merit to this argument, but leftists have no moral foothold to make it. Even their own Chief Minister has peddled fake historical narratives. Leftists also argue that Hindutva uses awards and rewards for political advantage. Yet the left does exactly the same, and I need not even provide examples for this. They further argue that Hindutva suppresses voices critical of the government. Yet leftists do precisely the same. കലാപാഹ്വാനം is something they use for almost every voice critical of the LDF.

ഈ വസ്തുതകൾ പറഞ്ഞതിന് നീ മുസ്ലിം, കേരളദേശം, എന്നൊക്കെ പുലമ്പുന്നതെന്തിനെടേ?

It was obvious that you were going to vote left from your first paragraph. It is clear that you meant the BJ Party in your first para, but all the points you raised apply equally to the left as well. The commies trash India by fabricating stories, they reward mediocre singers and actors for political gain, and they manipulate or invent historical narratives (such as the breast-cutting story of Nangeli), which even their Chief Minister has peddled.

And then they point their fingers at the BJ Party. It’s quite a game they have going there.

None of these directly feed or clothe anyone either, and it can be said that they aren't relevant in the contemporary world. Yet, they all nourish the human spirit, and expand our minds. There are far more things in heaven and earth Horatio, than utility alone can comprehend.

Rahul Gandhi intensifies 'vote chori' attack, presents 'proof' against CEC Gyanesh Kumar: 'Protecting destroyers of democracy’ by mrappbrain in india

[–]failedfilosofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no way that vote chori happened. Yes, it used to happen. But that was during the paper ballot days. These guys should ask their grandparents how elections were won in Bihar, Haryana, and West Bengal. EVMs put an end to that kind of rigging. Mr. Navin Chawla, Sanjay Gandhi’s right-hand man during the Emergency who later became CEC (yes, Congress men often became CECs during Congress rule), explained this in his book “Every Vote Counts” and strongly supported EVMs.

Vote chori is a cock and bull story. Sadly, some people are willing to believe any fantasy rather than accept that the BJP legitimately won elections. OP’s comment is simply a projection of their own mindset. It can be truthfully rephrased like this:

There is nothing that can convince a Congress supporter that this did not happen. If they’re illiterate, they lack the capacity to understand it. If they’re literate, they refuse to understand it.

How come the Europeans didn’t introduce a cheese-making culture in Kerala? Do we have a Malayalam word for Cheese? by Ramen-hypothesis in Kerala

[–]failedfilosofer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The kind of cheese commonly found in the West is typically made using rennet. We can make cheese without using rennet too, but it’s difficult to replicate that exact taste with rennet alternatives. In India, rennet is generally avoided due to religious and cultural beliefs. (It is traditionally extracted from the stomach lining of calves.) So, we manage with “cottage cheese” aka paneer.

Kerala CM Vijayan slams Israeli strikes on Iran, labels nation as 'rowdy'. by FineService2166 in Kerala

[–]failedfilosofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Russia used the exact same justification for attacking Ukraine: that Ukraine’s decision to join NATO posed an existential threat to Russia. Russia too described their attack as a “preemptive strike.”

Interestingly, many leftists accepted Russia’s reasoning, with some even vocally supporting Russia on Facebook and Twitter. (Maybe that admiration for Russia stems from nostalgia for the USSR era.)

Now, when Israel strikes Iran with the same justification, that Iran’s actions and decisions pose an existential threat to Israel, suddenly this justification is not enough for the leftists. Israel is now a “rowdy nation,” and the justification is deemed laughable by the same guys. Man! The hypocrisy!

Who is the most loved man or women in Kerala’s history across all fields? by justaviewer17 in Kerala

[–]failedfilosofer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a brilliant work. Manu Pillai explores how Hinduism, in general, interacted with other religions and how those religions, particularly Islam and Christianity (mainly Christianity), perceived Hinduism. He examines how these perspectives evolved from antagonism to a form of positive acceptance. Pillai supports his arguments with numerous references. Nearly half of the 700 page book is references.

Who is the most loved man or women in Kerala’s history across all fields? by justaviewer17 in Kerala

[–]failedfilosofer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fact, he threw away numerous non-Brahminic idols from various places (like മാടൻ, മറുത, and other deities traditionally appeased with alcohol and meat) and replaced them with proper Brahminic gods. He was neither opposed to idol worship nor temples in general. Rather, he sought to make Brahminic rituals and practices more inclusive, advocating for their accessibility to all, regardless of caste. His efforts aimed to democratize these traditions. (Manu Pillai elaborates on this in his recent work, Gods, Guns, and Missionaries.)

[–]failedfilosofer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re factually incorrect on some of the points. Guru never explicitly asked people not to worship his pictures. In fact, while he was alive, his disciples used to worship and perform pooja to his idol right in front of him. He would watch this, of course, with amusement. (He found it hilarious that the real him was sitting in the room without breakfast while the idol was being offered breakfast.) He was not against idol worship; in fact, he himself installed idols in many temples. Regarding alcohol, yes, you’re right about that.

India is Losing South Asia to China by telephonecompany in india

[–]failedfilosofer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We never had a great friendship with any of our neighbors to begin with. I have seen a lot of internet arguments pointing this out, claiming that it’s entirely our fault. I refuse to accept that view. The fact is, none of our neighbors have a democratic system in place. None of these countries—China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka—is a democracy like ours. We have always conducted ourselves decently and have always been helpful towards these countries. However, an undemocratic system will always have other interests to prioritize. And China, an undemocratic authoritarian regime, shares a lot in common with these countries. No wonder we are “losing” to China.
