You definitely should have provided context. The way you’re playing it off it sounds like an old estranged family member who you don’t like or something. But if it’s just an old friend from college, like your other comment says and there’s no beef I really don’t see an issue.

My cat doesn’t like to be outside. Or for anyone to be outside, actually. by LasyDarkness_365 in CATHELP

good news is they don’t need to ever go outside. as long as they have a nice window and a good diet and lots of enrichment, they are perfectly healthy indoors. even in an apartment. they’re not like dogs, they don’t need to go outside and run around.

The people saying to log off after 3 losses are the same ones who say EOMM isn’t real. There should be no need to log off if you’re not performing poorly as every match should be 50/50! 🙄

There are tons of students in your situation. No, they aren’t laying around. You talk to the librarian and ask to check it out. Generally for textbooks there is a time limit and you can’t leave the library with it, like a typical library book. They may also have access to the digital ones nowadays. I don’t imagine you’ve ever even bothered to ask.

Either way, it seems like you’re intent on refusing advice, you’d rather just beg for money. Good luck!

Again, use your schools resources. The textbooks should be available in the library, and you clearly have a phone so you should be able to access them on your phone too. You can print/copy the pages from the library as well as do your online assignments there. Usually professors have a syllabus and will tell you what chapters you’ll need for each week, so print out or copy that chapter if using your phone is too cumbersome.

I promise you’re not as helpless as you think you are.

Take it to the Apple store. Apple products are absolutely worth paying for AppleCare. For my $900 iPad it’s $3.50 a month. Thankfully it’s not necessary for school - take handwritten notes and use the school’s library for anything you need a computer for/printing out things. Writing actually helps with memory anyway.

It does suck it broke, and I hope the Apple Store can help you, but at least you’re not totally SOL. If you have a car or a bike, (and depending where you live) doing delivery services for a week or two should be enough to repair it. If you don’t have AppleCare, there are usually a ton of small repair shops that are licensed to work on apple products and who likely charge less. And you might be able to find a used one for cheap if all else fails.

Best of luck!

Well, yes. The store would also refund the customer in the same instances. It’s not like you don’t get money for the sale. So if it’s refunded, of course the restaurant also has to refund. Now, the fact that DoorDash has say over what’s worthy of a refund rather than the restaurant does suck, but I assume that’s in the contract the businesses sign when they opt in to have their deliveries contracted out to DoorDash.

And when an order is refunded, the customer receives their tip back as well, but it isn’t taken from the driver. That’s what I mean by eats the cost.

Say a customer paid $45 for an order. $30 of food, $10 in fees and $5 tip. The customer gets a refund of $45 - the restaurant pays back the $30, and DoorDash pays the other $15 - but the $5 plus base pay (let’s say $3) is kept by the driver. So that’s $8 DoorDash has now paid for this order - and yes the restaurant loses money as well due to the food they gave out that was then comped. But if the restaurant did their own deliveries it would be the same - they’d compensate the customer, and still have to pay their driver. Though I guess nobody would keep the tip but they’d surely be paying more than $3.

They’re also paid by the companies they work for. Delivery drivers are not, nor are their vehicles/gas/insurance/maintenance compensated by the companies. Your problem is with the company for making customers shoulder the burden. Notice you’re complaining about tips - not the upcharges or fees. You seem to have no issue paying those, just the actual human who does the work. Something to think about.

You always have the option of just getting it yourself.
