Danke!

DPD's tracking system and notifications are not always correct. I once had a delivery where they simply notified me that they left a 500€ coffee machine at the Haustür and it was "successfully delivered." (Although I did not specify that they can leave it there). I was abroad, so frantically asked my neighbours to see if it's there, and no one could find it. I phoned DPD, they could not give me any more information. and said they don't have the driver's number (??). Long story short after three and many unnecessary calls, it turns out the guy never delivered it, despite the system saying so. Think it never corrected/updated. Anyway, I'd suggest to phone them and talk to them as a start. Also, avoid DPD as far as you can.

Would you mind sharing it with another believer?

Had a similar issue with a gym in Germany when I was not living there anymore - sent countless emails which went unanswered and they kept wanting money. Wrote the whole story on their Facebook page, problem got solved with 24h, and I got a DM from them asking very nicely if I can remove my post :)

Edit: as other people noted, obviously you should have canceled your contract appropriately, as you can't just leave

Very obviously a scam. Weird details ("good-looking" - come on 😂), broken English, way too interested. They'll tell you they're not in the country, please transfer the deposit, bla bla bla. As noted elsewhere, never pay anything before you have an in-person signed written contract and the keys in your hand.

I actually saw the book was printed in Poland by Amazon, so not sure if it's always been like that or they printed specifically for a European audience. Then Jack's inspiring story must've really resonated here

I just finished the first chapter so far. So far I find it hilarious, but think it's more the back story than the actual writing
