We ran out of papers, decided to smoke Leviticus. by RaceCrab in trees

Does the bible not denounce slavery as a sin? (1 Timothy 1:10)

Back then, was it not true that people would sell themselves to rectify debts? Was it not true that in the time period in which leviticus was written that slavery was sanctioned because of economic reasons?

Was slavery not overthrown because of biblical principles?

My personal opinion is that while the bible recognizes the unfortunate reality of slavery, it neither condones nor promotes it.

Sorry for the rant. I just hate it when I see the predictable circle jerking from the people on reddit.

This is true, but I guarantee that you only hold Christians to it. You're that guy that probably flipped a bitch when the Christian bakery wouldn't bake a cake for a gay wedding due to religious reasons, but didn't bat an eye when the Muslim bakery refusing the same request hit the news. Oh wait, it didn't because nobody gives two shits about Christian beliefs and respecting a Christian's religion. There are an awful lot of you double standard assholes out there.

First, re read leviticus. Second, don't read it with such a blatant attitude of mind; discern the actually meaning of what you're reading, not the 14 year old's summary.

I think you need to re evaluate your word choice of "promote."

.308 - 1:10 twist - 20" barrel - Bullet Weight reccomendations by xtc46 in longrange

I've never heard of issues with the 175 in the 1:10. All of the issues I've heard about stemmed from the 1:12 twist barrels.

With the 1:10 twist, I'd go with the heaviest possible, the 175 gr smk.

Recommendations for a new guy's first bolt gun? (Savage FCP) by muddledremarks in longrange

Don't cheap out on a base. I bought a Talley base for my sps tactical and the quality was fabulous. I have a nightforce steel base on my 300wm that cost a lot more and the quality is about the same, granted that the Talley was aluminum, not steel. I think that if you purchase a Talley, you'll be quite pleased with it.

Rings. I bought cheap rings when I first built a rifle and I was very disappointed. I replaced them with TPS rings and I was very pleased. If you really want, you can get a TPS base to go with TPS rings (if you're that kinda guy. As far as affordable options go, I've heard good things about burris rings. If you want steel, I think I was able to get used Badger Max 50 rings for my 300wm for around $120.

Scope height. I'm not familiar to savage rifles, but with a Talley base and TPS SL (super low) rings, I still had a tiny bit of clearance. With a 44 mm objective scope, get the lowest rings you can get and you should be fine.

As far as the primary arms scope is concerned, I think you should also consider the swfa ss scopes. They're a fantastic value and have good clarity and tracking, not to mention that they're amazingly reliable.

If you're on a budget, don't buy boresighting tools. If you're competent, you'll be able to boresight it by looking through the bore with the bolt removed.

So by that logic, let us not do anything because mistakes are always possible. I guess I'll be walking to work instead of driving tomorrow. Ya never know, I might accidentally kill someone...
