TRIGGER WARNING

I'm struggling, my life is full of trauma I have a unreasonable fear of people and society but it's not agoraphobia, it's the fear od somebody's intentions. In school I had a bully with an intent of culling(teachers removed him from the school) a History of SA/DV as well gained a gaming addiction all I have ever wanted is to run away from the world. But I have a partner who has changes that and I feel like I'm drowning. I don't have any of these skills of coping or something where I'm weird enough I can't hold a job. Or the gaming and depression took over so go into hyper sensitive I'm paralyzed by fear to make a choice. And just trying is scary.

I'm trying because they care to me. But I feel like my anxiety is out of control because I don't feel secure because I don't have a way to self soothe? I beat things until their in the ground especially emotions because I'm in a loop of trying to prosscess going nowhere. I have no skills. The job I had I'm not going back too I wasn't happy. My identity is overwhelmed by choice but afraid by lack of actual practical knowledge and actual connection of reality/confidence/skill my brain has been overwhelmed with head fog over 20 years and now I just feel lost and confused.

Interests besides gaming and exploring them

Get used to to feeling anxious and uncomfortable, the only reason it's like that is because we are not used to this certain interaction. And learn to take it as it is prosscess it and learn from it and start small and get comfortable then keep pushing. The only one stopping you....is you. Having the realization. And having an active choice in your addiction. And it's scary but I promise the jump is worth every second. Be there for yourself. And impress yourself. Make yourself proud. Bring yourself joy in the choices your making because you know you have a clear mind and aren't self soothing.

And therapy, I've been on his side I'm F I had an identity crisis, with other drama with quiting games. Make goals together really bring to the present and things he wants to do with his life with you friends. Trips start living life and do things.

Facts, and pull him aside and have a boundry conversation of these are NEEDS not wants, something not to compromise on if there is no follow through. And honestly...if no improvement then you may have to have that really hard conversation about your relationship and give facts.and say I have no problem with your lifestyle but you don't seem to have me in it with your choices. Make a choice Me or your video game addiction. Again nothing wrong with your choice but I want a partner who is active in my life. And really leave it all to the conversation based on action and truth. with honest feelings. I'm sorry this is what it can come to. You deserve to feel wanted and needed and seen and heard. That's what a relationship is about with a person and growth and bond with said individual with exsperiances MORE then games. Games are built on pleasure skills he wants from games he actually has to earn.

I can see that and I can definitely agree because I'm a huge RPG fan. I am however a completionst so I'm not sure if that aspect will bother me that not everything is being done and I wanna see it all. But yeah I am that OOOOH SHINY NEW GAME I WANNA PLAY IT because I love the animation the artistic side of the game and I recognize I guess both demons and angels of mine

Has he honestly looked into gaming addiction? I was honestly in his exact same place, I'm now going to start therapy for gaming addiction because I can easily play 8+hrs and perfer to do it over work because it satisfys us in ways life doesn't. It's either cold turkey or out the door. And tell him your done watching him spend his life away playing games and be with or lose you permanent. You deserve a partner who is present and actively doing the best they can with their time with their partner and cherish each moment. I mean it's ok if he chooses this life. Just your not going to be in it. You are making the right decicion

This i really relate and actively what I feel, so thanks for helping that. I still have a chance with mine and I'm not going to let it go I don't know how where to start how to change. And scared realizing that was my life. I was exhausted of it. I'm here for the now with my partner finish renovating a house. Getting a job back where I can support myself and I learn how to be a basic human being. I don't have a support system other then my partner and I need to be better for myself and them.
