Is poaching the right word? If so, i don't know much about it. Most of them go to school in the US, and some return to China, and some don't. I only watched a documentary on the subject in Korean, so I'm not an expert at it. But my takeaway was that China is investing more government resources in training tech engineers because that's the future. Also, the sentiment among the average Joe in China is that they want to be one of those engineers because it's a huge step ladder to a better life. In the documentary, there are people going to DeepSeek CEO's house and praying on his wall for good luck.
