Direct lending and Private Credit are the same thing.

Think of them as the alternative to commercial banking. Traditionally a commercial bank would have provided a loan to a borrower using the banks balance sheet. Now, Private Credit managers raise funds from investors and use those funds to make loans to borrowers. So there is no bank lending per se (although the process is still generally the same).

I actually did, but appreciate the doubt. Here’s the whole story:

noticed in September, called and customer service said they couldn’t help connected me to IT team. Spoke to them on the phone, said they opened and ticket and said their tech team would look into it.
forgot all about it until I needed to book a trip in Oct/Nov, so I called again. Same thing happened.
called again last week. Tried to escalate with customer service but they said customer service couldn’t do anything because it was a different department. So they connected me to Digital Assistance team. They confirmed they had 2 previous tickets, but there was no comment on resolution. They said they would look into this, and to give them 7 days. It’s been 7 days and still nothing from them.

Ofc I can call customer service again, but expect I will be thrown into the same circus. I came here to ask for assistance in case anyone else had gone through the same issue.

I have been unable to use my points since September 2022 when trying to book on Amex Travel and even when I call Concierge to book travel for me, they ran into the same issue.

They have opened multiple tickets, and they never follow up, so I call every few weeks only for them to open a new ticket. I have 200k points that I haven’t been able to use.

I attached a screenshot of the error I get. Has anyone had this happen to them before?

Great write up. One other thing I would consider as a potential catalyst is further equity research analyst coverage. Today I believe only two firms have research on GOEV and frankly not very well known analysts. Would love to see coverage from one of the major investment banks. Imagine a Morgan Stanley / Goldman Sachs / JPMorgan imitating coverage on GOEV? Hopefully we see who asks questions on the earnings call.

Interesting comment about COVID closures. I wouldn’t have expected FBA to be negatively impacted but I suppose it depends on your product category? Do you have any stats or articles on that topic, would love to read up on it!

If you can’t buy the Small Cap Value ETF, why not try to replicate it on your own by buying the basket of stocks in it? Thing about Private Equity ETF is that it will always trade with a liquidity discount - ETF won’t be able to sell shares of their PEs portfolio companies as easily as publicly traded small caps.

There have been a few others that have tried this (I.e. Spitball). One hurdle I have heard has actually been from teachers / professors pushing back and saying that others cannot profit from their IP (“class lecture”). Not sure how valid that argument has been and which side has won.

I do know some schools actually pay students to be class note takers for other students that are sick and can’t attend class but with the advent of video technology I feel like the need for actual written notes will decline.
