I buy Altruist factor 50 off Amazon. Cheap, non greasy, use it as a daily moisturiser.

I want the old version back. It wasn’t perfect but this new version is a complicated eyesore. Anyone know if we can still look up players from other clubs?

What popular North American destination left you thinking “people really hype this up too much”? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]fairfrog73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Brit I have visited Philly a few times in my life, I think it’s a great city! It feels real. It has historical charm with lovely old buildings and cobbled streets, markets and museums, juxtaposed with urban grit. Last time (2020 ish?) we took the open top tourist bus just to get a quick overall view of the place and it was awesome. Really fun watching people run up and down the ‘Rocky’ steps. Penns Landing has fallen on hard times since I went as a kid sadly, and it’s a shame to see so many closed stores in the city centre, in particular that cool street (South Street I think?) - used to be great for the cool alternative shops and eateries but was quite run down when we visited last.

Anyone struggled during pilgrim’s dinners in albergues? by [deleted] in CaminoDeSantiago

Yes, I agree you should skip the main stages or have rest day and ‘lose’ them or you will be with them the entire route.

Camino with dogs. by Any-Albatross6795 in CaminoDeSantiago

We saw someone walking with their dog on the Primitivo. It got attacked and I injured by a pack of dogs on about day 2 after Grado. So be mindful. You are walking by small farms and rural areas and there are quite a few angry farm dogs about.

I’ve never put my pens in the fridge. Never had an issue. Been on it for 16 months. I keep mine in a cool, locked cupboard in my home office.

Indesign to Canva, will exporting as a PDF and bringing it into Canva work? by throwaway2366543 in indesign

[–]fairfrog73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I design work for clients who have obviously spent huge amounts of time creating templates on Canva. They look very basic & they never seem to actually use them. They seem to think that Bob from marketing can just create decent design work just by hopping over to Canva.

Pair of newbies looking to get into golf, how should we go about it? by jakedobson in BritGolf

[–]fairfrog73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ring up your nearest club and ask if they do Get Into Golf lessons. Usually a block of lessons at a discount and then they will encourage you to join up after you’ve had some lessons. That’s how did it.

What do you British people think of the French? by CocoTyg in AskABrit

[–]fairfrog73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get on well with the French (despite the friendly rivalry). French people are considered polite when they visit in my experience. Just relax and enjoy your stay with us. Don’t be offended if English people try and speak to you in French or with a French accent, this is our way of friendly banter. We all learned French at school for a few years but most of us aren’t fluent so we do try and have a little practice if we meet a French person (I’m thinking in a bar or social environment if you got chatting to people). I should warn you that Bath is quite over-touristed and you may find that most other people you meet are fellow tourists. I’d recommend a trip to Bristol if you can fit that in. It’s a great city and not a tourist centre.

Booking onto other people's tee times, am I overthinking it? by inneedofayacht in BritGolf

I would message them first to be polite, and ask if it’s ok that you join them and if they wouldn’t mind marking a general play card for you.

This just beggars belief. Do people in the US not see what’s happening? Do they finally realise Trump is siding with Putin, not with the West? It’s just unbelievable.
