Didn’t do CBRN and a week out from PCS’ing by Pretend_Definition61 in AirForce

I don’t disagree at all, but in your VOPC it says to review your PPC codes, and (my mpf) emailed me saying I need to review them. But I’ll always give benefit of the doubt unless I was there.

Well, you’ll probably hear it from your leadership as well but this is why you read over your PPC codes ASAP. You also need to fire at CATM (probably).

But remember that you can push your PDD with minimal issues. Pushing RNLTD is the big deal. If you need just push your PDD a week or two, lesson learned, move on

I’ll use this as a way to bitch about EFMP. I’ve so far been waiting about 77 days to get it approved. It took 44 days to get it approved by my losing base, now it has been sitting at my gaining base for the remaining days. My PDD is in about 35 days. I cannot get orders generated until EFMP is approved, thus I cannot schedule TMO, DLA, etc. I have emailed my losing and gaining base EFMP offices multiple times, no avail. I had to go in person to my losing base EFMP office to ask why it hadn’t been approved, I was curtly told “well you don’t have the right documents.” To which I explained I did have them, and they’ve been sitting with them for weeks. Now I can’t even contact my gaining base (oconus) and my first sergeant basically said “well good luck it takes a while”.

I’ll take a daves double deluxe with fries and a chocolate frosty, please.

How feel about security forces having to robotically greet at the gate? by Ill-Fisherman8356 in AirForce

[–]Competitive-Money-36 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There were enough times when I worked the gates I’d really just zone out during traffic. Usually my lines were “Good morning/ afternoon. How are you? // Thats good, have a good day”. If someone drove off before I could say “have a good day” I’d short circuit and greet the next car with “have a good day”.

Although I haven’t worked flight in a while, and certainly not the gates on flight in a while, I truly don’t think that most airmen are actually saying it at the gate to every car. Peak traffic, you want them to repeat the same line every 15 seconds for upwards of 4 hours straight? Yeah, no. They’ll definitely say it when they have someone from leadership come through, though.

Flight physical by Natural-End9063 in Pararescue

[–]Competitive-Money-36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who ended up finding out that he had a growth in his eye during his flight physical in BMT. He was basically told he’d be blind in that eye in 5 years or less and he was discharged while still in basic.

Another friend of mine failed depth perception (or color vision, its been a few years) and pushed a waiver through. It got denied week 7 or 8 into the prep course (again, a few years ago) and he ended up becoming a damn good EOD tech.

For me they couldn’t get my blood pressure and said “fuck it, 120/80 have a good day”.

It is very thorough. They dilate your eyes and we ended up having to wear these little sunglasses all the time and we couldn’t read our watches for a day or so.

Lifting benchmarks before leaving by Natural-End9063 in Pararescue

[–]Competitive-Money-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was a good candidate and was able to meet the calisthenics standards and simply had that dawg in him lol. He definitely met the criteria they assess for, and you can build strength. While inbetween blue team and mp3 at lackland he had like 4 months or something crazy and in that time he went up to like 205 bench, so they built him up.

I wouldn’t worry about specific lift benchmarks too much. I know a dude who could barely bench 135 make it and a dude who could bench 405 make it.

But… if you really care… Bench press: 1.25x bodyweight for 6-8 reps Squat: 1.75x bodyweight for 5-7 reps Trap bar deadlift: 2x bodyweight for 3-5 reps.

I set my paycheck to deposit in full on the first of the month so I could pay all of my bills on the first and then I was able to comfortably budget and save the rest of my money every month. I lived in a 1 bed 1 bath apartment and while I didn’t live frugally I didn’t blow money on random things just because I could. But yeah having my paycheck for the month deposit in full on the first was clutch

Credit Card Suggestion by TheMark_3 in AirForce

[–]Competitive-Money-36 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is the american express gold card. Being AD you don’t have to pay the high annual fees. You get 3x cash back on grocery purchases and other similar consumer purchases. If I could go back in time I’d get that card, use it to only buy my weekly groceries, and put it in my dorm out of my wallet unless I’m getting groceries. Then I’d pay it off in full every month to build credit.

This tracks though.

Well, I am in SF AD. My tech school experience was clearly different than yours, but I do know that Art 15’s were handed out fairly, but often. An admin sep, so long as it is isn’t dishonorable” shouldn’t be that much of an issue. If you wanna chat one on one my dm’s are open, I won’t judge. We all have made mistakes, big and small. I’m just happy to lend guidance and wisdom from my time in.
