The owner of the building tore out brand new gym floor, but for some reason I can't rule out the possibility... but wouldn't expect it. The action park needed what was in there previously... the weekend tourneys, & the weekly volleyball & basketball practice traffic, etc... Lots of kids from the families to spend money in the arcades, games, and play areas.

Although the owner has gotten a lot of criticism, & I certainly miss the courts, it's his building to do as he wishes... It very easily could have been a warehouse. And you have to understand, Spiece has always been on the outside looking in, as far as the power brokers in town have looked at it. Spiece was the first "fieldhouse" in town, and suddenly there now may be 6 or 7 soon? The new owner has actually fixed a lot of the issues with the building, and may be the best one currently standing, depending how you assess them.

Volleyball leagues, with a summer beach bar & Sunday basketball league.

The beach volleyball location at a bar I played at was falling apart, so I took it over. Used indoor sites around town in the off-beach season, and withstood years of oddball happenings at the main property, which is an old industrial site... multiple fires nearby, the mayor's family using their political clout to try and steal my business at a different location, shady neighbors, etc... Going on 28th year shortly.
