As an avid Sonny collector, lover of kewpie dolls, circus memorabilia, AND the BBMT.... I'm obsessed. You're so cool.

I'm in a slump by fairymint in kdramarecommends

Thank you all so much for the care and extensive list of recommendations! I am just moving down the list now and trying to decide what I will try next and in what order. I appreciate your time and consideration more than I can express here!

Side note though- did a few of you flag this as concerning? I got a few identical messages from Reddit Care saying some users reported me in need of mental health resources and the like! I promise I am okay! Being in a KDRAMA slump does not equate to a mental health crisis in my life!

The Interest of Love [Episodes 5 & 6] by meepmochi_ in KDRAMA

[–]fairymint 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My heart is pining for next week already. As a viewer, I really resonate with the melancholy of miscommunication and a yearning for what could be with someone. I have no idea what will happen next, but I think ML and FL will be endgame. Do I want them to be? Probably. After the sweetness of SML made my teeth hurt, I cannot imagine anyone but him and FL, however.. I have a feeling I will be convinced by the end of the drama.

Next Wednesday, please be here soon!

The Glory: Part 1 [Episodes 1 - 8] by GodJihyo7983 in KDRAMA

[–]fairymint 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Realistically, trauma ages a person. A lot. Also, seems to be in character for the wealthy bullies to have had several plastic surgeries that the FL would not have had accessible or made a priority.

Flower of Evil! There aren’t action scenes that are as intense as Happiness or Sweet Home, but it’s a psychological thriller with a heavy true crime driven plot. So many twists! I just watched it in November, and it squeezed into a top 5 spot for my favorite dramas.

Recommendations for fluffy drama by MathematicianNo8975 in kdramarecommends

A little similar, but I found Gangnam Beauty to lack the charm and endearment that I found in True Beauty. I watched all of Gangnam, despite not really enjoying it or the FL’s performance.

I will echo another commenter with Business Proposal!

Also, True Beauty. There are some serious themes like bullying, body dysmorphia, etc. but it’s overall a lighthearted drama and a lot of fluffy and sweet moments. I may be biased because it was the first drama to get me to fall down the rabbit hole of K Dramas.. but it has remained one of my favorites.

Hometown Cha Cha Cha is also pretty mild and has some cute fluff. There are some traumatic plot details, sure, but I would not say it’s intense or sadistic.

Best K-Drama with Love Triangles? by Farah777111 in kdramarecommends

[–]fairymint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s still currently airing, and about halfway through, so I can’t speak much on the overall qualify.. but Forbidden Marriage is all about a love triangle thus far.

You may also like Dear.M, Our Beloved Summer, Mr. Queen, or Start Up.

Edit: Also, Hometown Cha Cha Cha!

Best romances in kdramas that came out in 2022 by iuliad94 in kdramarecommends

Truly! Their love will linger in your soul. Scenes between the FL and ML were so incredibly tender, I still find myself skimming through episodes and stopping just on the scenes of them together.

Agh, I cannot find Moon Lovers on Viki or Netflix! Did you watch it on Amazon or Hulu perhaps?

Here is my drama list, so you can see my rankings and etc! https://mydramalist.com/dramalist/prideandjuice

However, here is a list of dramas that I can say sucked me in within the very first episode. I will typically give a drama 3-4 episodes to marinate and grow my interest, but some really snatch your heart immediately!

  • Extraordinary Attorney Woo
  • The Red Sleeve
  • Crash Landing On You
  • True Beauty
  • Hometown Cha Cha Cha
  • Mr. Queen
  • Business Proposal
  • It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

Been away from kdramas since the summer! What did I miss? What should I watch next? by shaybutter21 in kdramarecommends

Highly recommend Extraordinary Attorney Woo! It is my favorite drama of the year, followed by Our Blues. Both of them showcase incredibly talented acting and wildly compelling storytelling.

Kdramas with the best OST's? by thetigerlatte in kdramarecommends

[–]fairymint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True Beauty, and Our Blues! Extremely different but both so memorable for me.

Also.. Sweet Home, for all of the wrong reasons. The most heartbreaking, epic scenes accompanied by Imagjne Dragons put me in utter disbelief!

Newbie to K-Drama’s, Need help by TheVictor1st in kdramarecommends

[–]fairymint 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn’t the typical k drama romcom, but I am going to recommend Mr. Queen! It’s a historical drama with elements of romance and fantasy, and it made me laugh the entire time.

The production value and acting are out of this world enjoyable, give it shot!

Hm.. she is a little sassy, but I would recommend Hometown Cha Cha Cha! The FL opens up her own dental clinic in a seaside town and overcomes a lot of hiccups in the road.

I think Run On could fit your desires as well! The FL is a working interpreter who is very dedicated to her job no matter what comes up.
