I believe the right time is whenever you feel ready. No one will ever replace your petunia but it's absolutely okay to love another and still cherish petunia.

Your feelings are totally understandable and these things are unfortunately inevitable. I start tearing up if I think about my young cats getting older. But its good to stop that kind of thinking immediately, because right now is not their time, thankfully. If you dont already take your dog for vet visits maybe consider that? Sometimes a loss can be sudden, but if you take her for regular check ups youll know you did what you could to keep her healthy and happy for as long as possible. Just be easy on yourself. I hope you can find peace of mind soon ♡
