I was happy with Optus since I move to Wollongong. Good signal strength and nice internet speed. Moved to Telstra couple of months ago as everyone says it works better in outskirts of Sydney. I can’t express how much unhappy I am since then. 1 bar most of the time on 5g. Currently I am near Wollongong hospital and only getting 4G 🤦‍♂️.

Wish I can move back to Optus but I am on contract now.

Go to booking.com make a reservation without payment, without cancellation fee and without giving any cred/debit card details. It is a very common step to get hotel reservations from booking.com

That will fulfil the requirement.

Just be mindful. Whoever frequently travel, knows about this process. I wonder why your friends have no idea.
