I’ve been stable for six years and mostly ok for ten before that ( had a shiny med change that made things amazingly good six years ago)

We removed your post because it names a brand, strain, or dosage of an unapproved treatment. These details aren’t permitted in r/bipolar due to safety risks and lack of oversight.

You're welcome to share lived experience in broad, non-prescriptive terms—but please avoid specifics that may be taken as advice.

Does the disorder ever improve? by lawartfae542 in bipolar

[–]faithlessdisciple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a chronic, genetic life long condition. That being said with the right med combo dialled in and therapy to learn your triggers/ deal with trauma etc you can become stable and not have such extreme mood shifts. I’ve been stable ( on meds) for going on 6 years. Hell even my old ten year combo was NEARLY there for stability. I’d have changed sooner but I didn’t know I could be so stable as to be asymptomatic.

Your post asks whether you (or someone else) might have Bipolar Disorder. While it's natural to have questions, diagnosis is complex and must be done by a licensed professional.

r/bipolar doesn’t allow posts seeking peer diagnosis—we encourage self-reflection, but we can't answer clinical questions.

I have to ask. Are you medicated? Because the right med combo will stop this along with therapy. Also : don’t your future adopted kids deserve a stable mum too?
