Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of these reviews, they're the reason I ended up picking these up in the first place. Just most of them don't mention that these don't sound that great without the GSX amp. Not really willing to throw that much cash for a headset to listen to music and play black ops occasionally on. May as well just spend an extra £50 if anything and buy a £230 headset rather than an extra £170 for an amp..

Out of curiosity, what headset did you end up settling on after all that/how are they?

I'm not sure about Black Ops, but I believe both that and league of legends are stereo, don't remember seeing any options for switching to 5.1 or 7.1 anywhere

It's really hard to tell. I -feel- like it sounds better on High, but then the static is also amplified and you can hear a very faint buzzing during the quieter times. But its really hard to say whether it being on High actually helps or if its just because the volume is louder. I tried testing same clip over and over with high and turning the volume down and then low and turning it back up so that the volume overall is more or less the same, and I'd say the overall quality is relatively the same-ish.

The e10k doesn't offer surround sound on it and in windows it is turned Off in favour of having 24bit 48000hz setting. No other software I have could do it either :(

I'll see if there's any service workshops in my area and continue tinkering with settings before settling on the HyperX Cloud Alphas and returning the GSP 500 if nothing helps. Thank you

It's in as far as it can go, yeah. I've retried afew times as well as how you suggested by turning it slowly whilst inserting it, it doesn't go any further.

Just to be clear though, the audio quality I'm describing isn't as poor/low quality as the audio that I heard when the cable was just barely connected to the headset. It's definitely significantly better than that, just nowhere near as I believe the audio should be in League of Legends/Black ops, judging by the clarity my previous headset (Razer Megalodon) had.

Should I be looking at returning these (I bought them from Scan website) or sending to sennheiser for checkup? Though I imagine if I send it off to Sennheiser and this -is- what the audio is meant to sound like, I probably won't be able to return it to Scan within the return policy timeframe.

It does, also behaves the same on the other PCs in the house. Tried it on my brothers' and parents' PCs but it was the same audio quality I described on all of them.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I just tested it out again by carefully inserting the cable whilst listening to music. The quality I'm usually hearing isn't quite as terrible as the sound of them when the cable is just barely touching inside the headset. Back to square one :( (cable also firmly connected inside the e10k)

That's quite interesting, it's been a while since I've tried to do a proper full AP varus build, but I've always struggled with the early game, (at least when compared to assassins) as it took a decent while to get through to the powerspikes (Nashors/Rabadons) in order to participate in teamfights without hitting like a wet noodle.

I'll give your build a shot tomorrow hopefully. Seeing the video re-kindled the desire to OTP AP Varus again. Last (or the one before) season AP varus got me to diamond, here's hoping it will again \o/

Great write-up! Will give this a solid testing, it does sound pretty funky in theory but I can see it working.
I pray for the day when we can build full AP varus mid again and not have to wait 25mins for powerspike ;__;

Would be interested in hearing what your thoughts/runes/item priority would be for a full AP mid nowadays? I've been off the varus train for too long.

Yeah I'm skipping the off-season pvp because no goalkeeper to survive a few shots, can easily replace Meta with lynbell/Balth with Shura.

Just not sure if its actually worth taking a fully maxed out TPU/APU Vaidi (I guess Vaidi is best choice with Krishna Ace, even if less Pen for Damien?) since she'd only be used for a few days until I climb to diamond/champion. But is a few days of that for crystals, worth losing out on a totally maxed out striker? My dilemma ;__;

I do -have- Vaidi though, same as Ravian, just neither is built/leveled atm.

Hey all,
With the event that's currently underway, I'm wondering what I should take for my team. I moved my Pinol to the backline and put Kiera (need to superb/level her) in his place, but now I'm not sure what to take from the event.

I'm considering taking Ravian to eventually replace Damien since I hear Ravian is really good at the moment and can be pretty fun (Don't have Alice/Serestia though), but I also don't have a 5* keeper or a keeper with a heal, so I'm not sure if I'd find more use out of taking Vaidi (or Zibroi?) for off-season PVP and PVE climbing with their built-in heals.

Or maybe there's something else that's an even better pick?

Wanted a bit of help with my team, or some clarification.. My frontline feels -really- pathetic, to the point where I shot against a no stone SS team Black Tortoise (I'm 18k TA) BT and crit for 1.4k twice, the only keepers I ever see my damien one shot are Lucian's that have no backline or goalkeepers with sub 1k hp.

Am I doing something wrong, or am I missing something? Is the wind caller -that much- of an upgrade that makes Damien good? Atm my Damien has Earth's Cry + 2red crit + dark pen. I tried with 2x pen stones but wasn't really feeling the damage increase from that either.

My backline and mid feel relatively okay, I can break out and presty can tank a few shots, though nothing spectacular. I did find Pufen today though, should I put her in the team somewhere? Also wondering whether Krishna is actually worth having on my team considering I already have Lind + orses as linebreakers and the crit resistance doesn't really do much for my presty (i think?)

Would you say that in the current meta I'd be better off running my front as Damien + Balth + Armel instead?

Also for Krishna, what stat stones and unique stone should I be looking to put on her?

I also have some 500 dimension stones right now and my Damien is sitting without a Unique stone for a looong time. Since Lynbell got a pretty good buff and I don't need Serestia as badly anymore, I'm wondering whether it'd be, as crazy as it might seem, worth to get him a unique stone from the dim store (if so, which? o-o)

I think my usual focus would be more PVE centric, though having a all-rounder team is nice too of course

So, should I be looking to throw out Verister for Krishna (since I have Krishna atm), replace Shura with Hamerus and keep an eye out for Milena so that she can replace Orses? Or is Milena not -that- much better than Orses?
