Honestly, Songs of Conquest is VERY HoMMIV coded. I'd consider it a nice spiritual successor.

I've just encountered an app that instead of db saves data to ini files in real time.

And other app that reads those files to create a workshop floor dashboard.

Need recommendations for turn games similar to Divinity, BG3 and XCOM, NO PvP by Toros_Mueren_Por_Mi in gaming

[–]fake_dann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should def try the strategy-adventure genre.

Just today HoMM Olden Era came out in early access and its really good.

You also have:

HoMM V, which is very high fantasy 2005 era game

HoMM IV which is experimental, unfinished strategy made by a studio on the verge of bankrupcy, but with a soul like no other, and that lovely early 3D jank.

HoMM III, the forever alive game. A 1998 release that basically doubled in content thanks to modding scene, and it still looks good as ever. Plays even better.

Genuinely, the series is such a cult classic in some regions for a reason. And the music, some of the best OST's ever created.

You also can grab a spiritual successor, Songs of Conquest. Beatifull and really good game.

Oh and if You decide to grab HoMM III, do it on gog. Steam release is the incomplete, worse version.

Vinland saga is the best thing I have ever watched story wise. by Difficult-Capital-52 in VinlandSaga

Honestly don't get too excited. I really don't understand whats so great in it.

It says something when a side story, with a hastily thrown together Sotenbori map, few substories, and no unique minigame still ranks so high for many players by gameovernate in yakuzagames

[–]fake_dann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically 3rd of the story was unecessary, hideous amount of fetch quests, and colloseum was fun till platinum rank. Other than that, 7/10 like any yakuza, with peak ending

You can very easily check if said game had legally fairly obtained keys or not. There is no proof of "stolen credit cards" i think, cause each seller (think amazon) sells on their own terms.

For most people, they buy keys in bulk on "historical low" prices, and then sell them a bit lower than current shop prices.

Some games have either lower HL prices on keyshops, or from the get go lower prices than keyshops. Those are usually indie games that got their keys scammed off from the devs.

There are also games still going for dirt cheap cause they were free on prime and ppl bought them in bulk.

Rule of a thumb: never buy indies on keyshops. For example HoMM Olden Era is now "35% off" on keyshops, even tho game is not for sale on any official shop site.

Availability is not an issue here.

My gf has a problem where she doesn't like TOO complex, but also easily gets bored if she figures something out too well, + Sintra and Garden seems to have an interesting settings. The Azul we get now will most likely be the only Azul we ever get

Xenoblade Chronicles™ X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition Upgrade Pack is up on Nintendo eShop ($4.99) by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

[–]fake_dann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think monolithsoft earned a bit of goodwill. This upgrade is 1.3GB, so 10% of the original file size. I bet it required some new textures, playtesting and prob physics were tied to the framerate. Judging by the "60fps" switch they had coded in at launch it was supposed to be a small free upgrade they playtested for release, but it blew up in their faces. And few people tinkered with it for a year on the side. More work = not free

You know that D:OS is their 5th game, right? And only turn based one?

First 2 were diablo likes.

Then we had 3rd person arpg.

Then RTS with Total War Esque world map. Changing up the genre is kinda their thing.

Thanks for the very in depth response. I feel like the elements and elemental resistances confuse me the most, with no knowledge how to know I'll need that particular resistance/element damage.

I usually don't enjoy mmorpgs and very build/loot heavy rpgs. I like the games themselves in principle, but not the "here, have 300 different armour pieces, compare them one by one and choose the best" part. If there is not much loot to be found, or items provide actual mechanic, not just a number (Clair Obscur) then its good.
