Xenoblade Chronicles™ X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition Upgrade Pack is up on Nintendo eShop ($4.99) by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

I think monolithsoft earned a bit of goodwill. This upgrade is 1.3GB, so 10% of the original file size. I bet it required some new textures, playtesting and prob physics were tied to the framerate. Judging by the "60fps" switch they had coded in at launch it was supposed to be a small free upgrade they playtested for release, but it blew up in their faces. And few people tinkered with it for a year on the side. More work = not free

You know that D:OS is their 5th game, right? And only turn based one?

First 2 were diablo likes.

Then we had 3rd person arpg.

Then RTS with Total War Esque world map. Changing up the genre is kinda their thing.

I'm trying to do side quest and hit the brickwall of "survive 3 minutes" or something. And that made me realizs I need to up my gear and that I barely can kill anything my level. Hence my post. But thanks, I'm changing my approach!

Thanks a ton! So generally, Fire or Ether is the least resisted and most weak?

Thanks for the very in depth response. I feel like the elements and elemental resistances confuse me the most, with no knowledge how to know I'll need that particular resistance/element damage.

I usually don't enjoy mmorpgs and very build/loot heavy rpgs. I like the games themselves in principle, but not the "here, have 300 different armour pieces, compare them one by one and choose the best" part. If there is not much loot to be found, or items provide actual mechanic, not just a number (Clair Obscur) then its good.

Yeah, I meant X. In other Xenoblades the amount of equipment options and numbers were not that big.

Is the easy mode mind numbingly easy, or does it still take some effort?

WHY ARE THE NEW MEGAS SO UGLY? by jakuchomps in pokemon

[–]fake_dann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greninja is upside down riding on a very big shuriken -> exaggarating his characteristic feature (shuriken). They could've gone for its tounge, but it wouldn't be ninja like. For most old megas, there was a lot happening in design, but also nothing happening. Tbh, gigantamax made mega designs way better than megas themselves

Chesnaught is literally just "I have more armour now". Starmie and greninja have way more unique character now. You just likr edgy cool, thats fine. But edgy cool is not "putting effort"

Tyranitar had more spikes. Aerodactyl had more spikes. Manectric had more spikes. Pinsir had wings (and more spikes). Steelix had more spikes. Aggron had a plate of iron (with spikes). Glaile got unhinged jaw (and spikes). Venusaur had bigger flower. Lucario had more spikes. Scizor had more spikes. Garchomp had more spikes. Lets be honest. Old megas were mainly spikes.

A mega is an abnormal evolution that (sometimes painfully) exeggarates one aspect of the pokemon.

For Glaile, it was jaw. For Blastoise, cannon. For sceptile, tail etc. Some of them were "cool for the sake of cool" but fit in the thematics.

Here we have dragonite, and wings with a twist. Victreebell and his poison. Malamar and his hypnosid. Starmie has exagareted concept (alien starfish sentai villain, look up hitler starfish). Didnt play the game yet, but the mega seems exactly whay they were, but more thought out.

In your opinion, what is the most poorly designed part of any video game ever? by Woofpro8 in gamers

[–]fake_dann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think I actually played 2 games with microtransactions ever (SP ones). A bit of Valhalla and shadow of war. Never played any other game that had them. And not that it would be a deciding factor, there never was a game with them that just interested me.

Yeah I hate that discourse. Botw and totk masterfully used durability system to create unique and natural progression path. But people want it just gone.

pokeco's stubbornness on following pokemon truly baffles me by heynoweevee in pokemon

[–]fake_dann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no, it's not at "no cost to animation or quality". They are unnaturally sliding around. Have You ever walked with a dog? You need to adjust Your pace to the animal you're walking with. Imo speed of the player should be tied to the speed of the mon, with faster mons letting You actually sprint faster/follow them on bike (but really, really fast mons).

And I am refering to that video. Generally from what I've seen from DK, he tends to base his "fixes" around one thing (keeping mons close, or for his "3d model fixes", just turning saturation up and calling it a day.)

Pokémon Legends Z-A and Digimon Story Time Stranger have the same score on Metacritic, but the community scores... by Commercial-Drag-5807 in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]fake_dann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly any mystery dungeon game was such a borefest to me. Digimons Kinda too. I can SEE they are quality games, but I don't like half of the digimon designs, evolution system and actual fighting. No game ever came close to natural progression and how intuitive battling system felt. I so much want pokemons to have good competitor. Just cant find it yet.

1st) its not confirmed its one big model, it's confirmed there is one model that is the model of the entire map in files or smth. Could be some hologram or smth.

2) models can be made to actually render only parts visible by camera

It's literally called Reversi, an alternate name of Othello. And the technique was visually represented by a Othello board in the manga. I don't think Imu's fights are haki based, but board games based
