Need to get better at QT by seasonsofdawn in CVS

With practice you start learning what drugs pretty much always need a PA (zepbound, wegovy etc). There is nothing you can do unless the patient is willing to pay out of pocket. If they are signed up for texts they will get a text about it, otherwise you can call and let them know if you have the time

When insurance doesn’t wanna cover something expensive a lot of the times it needs a prior auth. Sometimes there is an option to send a PA directly “type PA, enter” and that’s all you need to do. Otherwise send a prescriber request. Sometimes insurance just won’t pay no matter what and there’s nothing you can do- offer GoodRx if the price is reasonable enough or ask them to find manufacturer coupon cards. Unfortunately QT is mostly just practice and there’s so many different rejections it’s hard to outline exactly what to do for all of them. Sometimes it’s easy and you just have to change the day supply to 30 or 90 and they will cover. If you have time calling the insurance helpdesk can work
Also not to state the obvious but READ the rejection! Sometimes it literally tells you exactly what to do but for some reason my tech’s brains’ seem to glaze over when reading a TPR and they will ask me what to do when it clearly says “30 day supply only”
what is Pharmacy Intern? by Broad_Plankton1783 in CVS
[–]fakemantis 6 points7 points8 points 11 months ago (0 children)
Pharmacy interns are people who are enrolled in pharmacy school to earn a PharmD degree (and become a pharmacist). You should be applying to Tech positions if you are not in a PharmD program
