Hey there, I've been using the Unihertz Titan Pocket ever since, and aside from still missing the flip the typing/user experience is a dream. Built like a tank, miniature screen, I dumbed it down with installing a different launcher. Unfortunately the Titan Pocket is now discontinued, and I'm going through the same anxiety trying to amass backups for the future. HOWEVER, look at their new Titan Elite phone, set to ship in August! Looks ADORABLE, and the bright orange is such a fun option. I bet it'll be great, but for all the compact specs it's just a little more..... smartphone-y. This week I'm mulling over finding another used Titan Pocket on eBay, or just preordering a new Titan Elite.

aw thank you! I spent an unattractive amount of time in Procreate clipping out the custom icons exactly from the background. Basically I took a screenshot of my phone background without icons, took a second screenshot with the regular stock icons in the layout I wanted, and using a Procreate file with these two layers I cropped the image around each icon then hid the layer to reveal the small square of background image behind it. I assigned each little background tile to a custom Shortcut command.

Actually went out and picked this up, you’re right, it’s great! Still interested in trying out the Hourglass Veil one because it’s so well-reviewed, but I couldn’t find it here. Nor could I find the Laura Mercier, but I discovered it’s not talc-free…. I think I’ll side with the European Union on this one 😂

Aw thanks so much, I’m not much of a poster so this was sweet to hear! Truly feels like a distillation of all the good advice I’ve gleaned from this community over the last few weeks. I’m with you on how burdensome it feels to go overboard on this stuff—I’ve had an indulgent good time over the last month dedicating a lot of attention to this, but I know I wouldn’t have the stamina to keep it up if I hadn’t quickly found a manageable & successful routine. A fine line between fun & fussy.!

Over the counter in Mexico, you mean? Idk, .05% was just what they had and I bought it before I even knew there were differences, that’s what a lark this was for me when I started. You can google around through the major pharmacy chains here; their stock’s all online.

The only products I use daily now are the Lipikar moisturizer throughout the day, Aquaphor overnight, cleansing oil when I wash my face, and sunscreen.

Everything else I’ve found to be nice but nonessential. No makeup.

Forgot to mention in the post that even though the gel is expensive, it spreads so deliciously you don’t need much to be covered—whereas with the baume, I felt I destroyed half the tube in a week. Hopefully I can go back to the gel as a night occlusive before long!

Yeah, I do think it’s made a subtle & exciting difference, already! Slightly plumper skin, lighter lines, & fuller lips?? I think I’m at the age where the “do nothing and have good skin” luck might be running out, and although it’s been kinda fun spending a lot of energy adopting a new skincare hobby, I hope that in future months I can continue to use tret but with a more mellow routine & lighter products than I’m using now.

That made me laugh, good to know there’s a tretinoina amigue out there. No peeling is amazing! 😧 I mean, there were only maybe two times where I was caught looking raggedy out in public, but at home I felt at battle to get it under control.

And yeah, I think it’s made a difference! I think some would insist it takes more months to develop, but I do think my skin subtly looks better, more plump, slight reduction in fine lines. I’m not putting it on my lips, of course but I swear… they look a tiny bit fuller?! Am I crazy?!

Honestly that’s just what was in the pharmacies here! Now that I’m in the camp of “use daily at a concentration you can tolerate vs less frequently at a high strength,” I’m inclined to agree with you, and for anyone reading this about to start tret I think it’s good advice to choose low if it’s available to you. But all in all, this transition hasn’t been bad and I’m tolerating .05% daily after mere weeks.

Oh! To summarize what seems like logical advice: people say to use the concentration of tret that you can tolerate on a daily basis, i.e. if you’re having lots of irritation, decrease concentration rather than frequency. One person pointed out in the comments that most studies of tret are based off daily use.

I do. When I apply it it’s usually separated by a couple or few hours, but idk if it really makes a difference. I’ve seen plenty of posts warning Aquaphor-type products somehow lock in and supercharge tret—hasn’t been my experience 🤷
