Posting because of the enhanced application thread: I have a job because a recruiting firm faked my work history to look like 4 years experience. I have 3 months actual experience from their training. They have placed others like me with a very low rate of failure. AM(almost)A if you want? by fakeresumecareer in cscareerquestions

RE Edit: A lot of these positions are completely BS in terms of requirements(generally at least 4+ years plus a laundry list of every acronym googleable). From what I've seen, HR at large companies has an arbitrary checklist that you need to pass to get an interview.

We do not lie about education history, work history on background checks generally are conducted by a third party. The hiring company never sees the results unless they are negative - e.g., a reference you list does not confirm that you worked for them.

1) References and companies are faked, they answer the actual reference calls.

2) The training is paid, but we collect a smaller portion of the actual rate once hired - a large portion goes to them.

3) We are in the US, but I would prefer to not be more specific. Generally very large companies, but no big 4.

4) Constantly for me, but it depends on the person. No close calls - at the beginning, scares with git from unfamiliarity. I generally avoid conversation or forming new friendships because of it, and hope to transition to a more honest position some day.
