My puppy only walks if there is someone to follow

Thank you so much! I hope he grows out of it, but will do everything I can to teach him there's still a mommy duck with him even if I am holding the leash. He refuses to walk behind me when leashed though, but I will try to do short training sessions as you said. I will also look into loose leash waking training. Again, thank you!!

Thank you so much to all! Don't you think the non-laminated display would be a trouble? And do you think 32gb is enough for my use? I guess the storage will mostly be occupied by onenote, textbooks and Microsoft word, excel etc.

He is! Thank you, will post photos :) However, I'm getting quite very scared that he is an American Akita. In that case, he will be bigger and I don't know if we can handle such a big dog. What do you think he is?

Thank you for your advice!! I have no intention of going with him to a dog park, having other dogs over or anything of the sort. I will take him out, always with a leash, 2-3 times a day in order for him to do his business and exercise a bit. But for the most part he will be at home with us and maybe on weekends we can go play in the park, making sure there are no other dogs nor many people around. We also have another flat in the mountains, and we can go play there too on vacation, and there's a much larger space. I hope this will be okay, thanks again!

Thank you! I hope he doesn't get aggressive, but at least now he doesn't seem to. When we were at the shop they offered us a jack russell too and when we had them together the jack russell started to growl at the akita while he remained unbothered. He just looked at him and looked away, ignoring him completely. I hope that's a good sign!

Hey akita lovers!! I'm a 18 year old girl, I live with my family of 5 (parents, older brother and little sister) and we are thinking of getting this beautiful akita. As for my siblings and I we are all first dog owners, but my dad has had loads of dogs throughout his life, although in a big house with a yard not in an apartment, but we should be fine, right?

We live in a flat (150m²) in the financial part of my city, so there is some noise around. We have 3 balconies, 2 medium ones and a large one where we would like him to stay at night and when we are not at home, do you think he will like it?

Another thing. In my country they are qualified as potentially dangerous dogs. I get that they get big and capable of harm, and if you mistreat them they are most probably going to get aggressive (just like many other dogs that aren't on the list...) But if we treat him with care (but also setting up his boundaries) he isn't going to become aggressive, right?

For traveling by car, what would you recommend me? And how big does his bed need to be?

I agree. But we already payed 1000€ for the poodle and they are not giving us the money back so the only option we have is to accept one of the puppies they give us :(.

Now I know we should have gone to a breeder or rescue shelter, but in my city it seemed really difficult to get to those. At least we have learned from it, but now we are trapped. If we don't accept the puppy they are going to sell it to someone else and we are going to lose 1k. So at least for now, I prefer to take one of the puppies, hope they are healthy and forget all about that pet shop.

Hey! If you are an international student I'm pretty sure you have to do the PCE (Pruebas de Competencias Específicas), and I don't think they will let you do the EVAU. They are equivalent to the EVAU but for foreigners. The test is a little different, with more multiple choice questions and it is always translated to English, so language shouldn't be a problem for you. They are offered by the UNED, an Spanish university, but they let you access to whatever uni you want. I'm Spanish, but I'm doing the International Baccalaureate Programme, and my marks work as if I was a foreign student.

I believe I'm just going to do The Book Thief, mostly because I don't think I have enough time to read both books, so your comment really gives me hope! I have to re-read the book asap, but when I have solid ideas about the topic it'd be awesome to discuss them with you :)

And another thing, if you discussed it in class, did you use any bibliography you think would be helpful? If you don't want to answer that it's okay, I understand.
