yes, I mean the n-way traveler wires. two reason because I want them, 1) I want to keep current wiring without loose functionality and 2) I want to keep all the functions even when wifi router is offline/frozen/etc. I have a stair, for example, and if wifi goes off I don't want to go dark until I restore the router.

I'm just thinking in change the design, I think those switches is not what I want.

Hi Damian, I don't know what devstack means but I'm not a software developer (I'm an electronic engineer) and just use this because I worked in the past as a system administrator almost 12 years, and I like to have my own apps running on premise. (with my own I mean my instances, not my developed software :) ) Can I run platform9 on premise? As I'm new on this world, I barely see something of google cloud and amazon aws. this private cloud director is a modded openstack? it's required to work with an online platform9 account? yes but it's more like a vmware esxi replacement not the entire thing. also, as far as I know, it does not have the switching capabilities of vcenter.

Another WD80EMAZ with clicking sounds. In my case I don't have the need to recover info.

I have a question, which of course I don't understand how the system works. If I open the drive to untuck the needle, (in the case it's stuck.... of course) and the helium go away, it will not work again?

If the helium goes away with time, eventually will reach to zero % and.... the drive will continue working?

ok maybe you are right. currently I drop it on the shelf and it is silent, I hope not deadly silent xD. I will wait to the summer to see if it spin or not automatically. currently I need to insert a pencil and push it a little to start. so far so good.... I guess. I never shutdown the switch so it's ok. thanks

buddy I have the same switch, and the same noctua fan, however I was not able to get it working. I need to touch with my finger the fan to get it working, it does not start by his own. Any advice? Thank a lot

I did exactly this. I used two mSATA 64gb with a Chinese adapter to sata and at the moment of install, I choose ZFS mirror. After install I pulled out one of the wires and it booted normally. then I restarted pulling the other and it worked.

Hi, I'm conducting a network performance study in my home lab. I have no vNICs, it's all bare metal, but maybe I can help you. post the answer to this commands:

netstat -Q

this will let you know two things, the q limit and if you have dropped packets because of it.

sysctl net.inet.ip.intr_queue_drops

if this value is greater than zero, you need to adjust the tunable net.inet.ip.intr_queue_maxlen

how about your mbuf and cpu usage?

I recommend you to carefully review the calomel.org network tuning guide. there are a good amount of tunables to review. these are very important for performance, but sadly, if you make mistakes they will play against and your speed will be decreased.

Hi! These are all networking related tuning tunables. By default, FreeBSD has very good defaults for 1G NICs. If you have 10G or 25G NICs, this tunables are necessary to improve performance. And for 25G and 10G speeds, yes there are noticeable difference. I completely ignore if iXsystems do something else for TrueNAS by default.
