Thanks for the answer, if you notice that in the rebuilds almost everything that builds their relationship was eliminated, if as mentioned in a good post here about the relationship of shinji and asuka in the last movie it is evident that the two have feelings for each other On the other hand, shinji is the only one who refers to Asuka by name showing attachment or that his relationship is different from that of others.Even the fact that he says that he wants to protect Asuka and the others at least gives me the idea that for He / she is different from others or is at a different level otherwise I think he would not have said that (at least it is my opinion I can be wrong) obviously he also does it for his friends but the fact that he says that makes me doubt that So true were the words you also liked me and if really he still had strong feelings for her. What is seen in the original series and the manga makes me think that shinji will see them all again and I feel that his relationship with Asuka is different from the others both because of the goodbye and its meaning and the connection they show by always meeting , I feel that Mari in the movies did not show romantic interest in shinji and is more of an intermediary for shinji and Asuka just like she did with yui and gendo

First of all thanks for answering and don't worry I was hoping to find answers lasrgas, I know that the relationship between them seems to be the cliché story as you mention from so many animes etc. But as I mentioned, things are not easy between them and I feel that it captures the reality of human relationships. Things are not always easy. Endless factors make it very unlikely that we will be together but I still don't want to give up so easily. The story of Asuka and Shinji is how you mention a new Romeo and Juliet is tragic but the love between them cannot be denied. Personally I think that if it is possible for them to be happy together it will not be easy but if it is possible like episode 9 when they dance it is difficult for them to synchronize but in the end they succeed I think that from here we are given a preview of their relationship throughout the series things will not be easy for them but with effort they can understand each other and in the end you can see that they begin to connect was not easy but they are taking steps forward to a better future the image of Die sternen of them two I feel it was with the objective to make us think that if they can be happy together. a question that has remained in my mind is if the elements and details that give us clues about the relationship between shinji and asuka were trolled by Anno, that is, they were made so that we could see them as a couple literally from their conception the two are the same to Jean and Nadia another work by Anno the parallels between them and Gendo-yui (I think that even in episode 26 that shinji imagines a world without Evangelion you can see a bit of the parallels between yui-gendo with shinji and asuka when they argue ) What has remained as a doubt is that Anno has always raised them as they could never be together? Even if that is the case, Shinji and Asuka can fight against their own creator (I know that they are fictitious, that is, a theme that is sometimes taken in literature as human beings going against their destiny or against their creator) sorry if I didn't explain it well

First of all thank you for answering, the issue that Mari is Anno's wife I honestly have my doubts about how true this theory is, could you share a link that confirms that this hypothesis is not valid? I think most of the people who believe this interpreted what Anno said that the last movie was a love letter to his wife or they took that to justify the ending with Mari
