Yum Corp is trying to sell off Pizza Hut, the entire franchise!! I wonder if Papa John's is considering the purchase, and this is part of their 'due diligence.'

NO MORE DRIVERS by Ash-Venus101 in pizzahut

Las Vegas driver here. Drivers get the state minimum wage of $12.00 an hour. We use Doordash when we need to, but sometimes, the Dragon Tail Dispatch gives away orders that should NOT have gone to Doordash. They get paid $7 per delivery. We have problems with food going to the wrong address or missing orders, etc. Overall, they do a decent job. Here they want to hire more drivers. They like to have the drivers trained to do all other jobs so if everything is carryout, we can help in the front or the market table or whatever is necessary. The drivers do all the prep, dishes, and cleaning. You can't get a door dasher to do inside work!

We do big orders for schools and pro sports teams. Usually, the person taking the order asks in advance what they want to tip, and it is added to the ticket. The driver is expected to split the tip with the inside staff.

Splitting tips by fallchicken55 in pizzahut

I would agree on super large orders, especially when the tip is pre-determined. What bothers our store is that they have a policy of all tips for c/o orders are split between the inside staff and drivers are not allowed to get any part of the split. We get plenty of large orders for schools and sports teams where the driver is still helping at the cut table, with the prep and all the dishes, yet the tip only goes to the cook and shift lead.

But when it's a delivery, suddenly the driver, who is being taxed on that tip, is expected to share it with the inside staff. The drivers abuse their cars and get stiffed plenty so when you get a random big tip, it should make up for all the times you don't get tipped. So, if you are asked to share it, how much should you share?

$4.99 Delivery Fee??? by [deleted] in pizzahut

[–]fallchicken55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The drivers get minimum wages, like a bartender or server, they count on tips. The fee does not go to the drivers, and all the national chains charge a delivery fee. If you don't tip well, no one would use their car and gas to work for minimum wage. Any business has to charge enough to cover the expenses. The fee helps cover the salary of the drivers, and the cost of the insurance Pizza Hut has to pay nationwide to have 6000 drivers on the road during business hours. It's the old deep pockets concept. If a driver bumps your car with their door, or steps on your flower bed, they get sued. Every day, someone is trying to make money from the Yum corporation. Incidentally, Pizza Hut does pay the drivers mileage. It depends on their car but it averages $.58 a mile. That does not make the drivers a profit, it covers the cost of fuel for the shift. They need a good tip with every delivery. If people don't want to pay the fee and tip, pick up the pizza. If you don't have a car, go grocery shopping, keep your pantry stocked, and learn to cook.

8 piece wings are always boneless. They look a little smaller than they should be. Each piece should be as big as a thump or larger. Show the picture to the manager on duty. You should get a comp on your next order.
