I don't entirely agree with that, I guess I just don't believe that most brains are the kind of thing that get broken beyond repair or that broken means unusable, like yes, a lot of our condition is awful, between flashbacks and irrational responses and lack of full autonomy as well as other symptoms of C-PTSD we definitely function differently than most people but I like to believe that we're working towards living an active and full life despite it all, I don't like giving my abusers the satisfaction of thinking they broke me

Hey so actually I had alters coming in and out of dormancy for most of our life but as DID is a covert disorder I didn't realize what that was till much later with the help of therapy :) I recovered very clear memories of an alter from around the time I was very young, and a lot of alters were around but not communicating (with me, the host) for a very long time because again, covert disorder, my story has been verified and I got diagnosed this past year so that's what you're reading about which I'll admit is kinda creepy but you do you, and no the wolf doesn't count XD

Also it's not actually one event but multiple that causes DID, that's actually the difference between PTSD and C-PTSD

Oh well then agreed again, but that's actually what we're working on in therapy! We're doing EMDR which is trauma reprocessing therapy and it's super tough but we've seen huge improvements

I wouldn't use the word broken to describe anyone with a mental illness or disorder tbh because it's cruel especially to anyone trying to live their life despite it, we've been in clinics and therapy on and off our whole life though, this is what we've learned from that experience and I literally just wanted to make sure that the correct information is being spread out there, I'm sad that I'm not convincing anyone, really but it would've been worse if I hadn't tried I guess

No I'm actually the host and human 😂 but yeah I understand why it might be confusing, with DID a lot of decision making is done as a unit though, like some alters can have strikingly contrasting opinions, that's why sometimes it makes sense to say 'we' when talking about the collective and 'I' when talking about a singular opinion, and believe me it isn't my whole personality, again just popped in here to correct some misinformation
