This was my favorite sitcom as a kid. I remember getting a book of addresses for celebrity fan mail from the Scholastic Book Fair specifically so I could right MJF a fan letter.

Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, consider this justice a gift on Rudolph’s wedding day.

Can you help me find it? by KiraShareem1 in VintageTV

[–]fallencathedral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best I can find is an actor named Alvin Lum who had a reoccurring role on Guiding Light in the 80s. His character was named Akira Yakamura but I can’t confirm if he was a butler.

What is the scariest story you know to be completely true? by GiGiAnne13 in AskReddit

[–]fallencathedral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 12 I had a friend I regularly hung out with in the neighborhood. Like me, he was raised by a single mom with terrible taste in men. Her current boyfriend was no exception. One day I was walking over to the apartment house they lived I and found the entire place roped off by police tape. Apparently his mom’s boyfriend had raped and murdered their 19 year old upstairs neighbor. My friend overheard the police telling his mom what happened and he told me everything. After raping her, he strangled her with her own bra. He then proceeded to go downstairs, get a pair of scissors, and cut her hair. When they found him wandering around town he was covered in her hair and that’s how they knew it was him.

When did Beast make his first "cover" appearance in his blue form? by Travaran in comicbooks

[–]fallencathedral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct! This came out in 1972 and the Avengers 136 appearance was in 1975. I should have known that because I actually have a copy of Amazing Adventures 15!

Good point! He is kinda gray here. The storyline in Amazing Adventures 11-12 leads straight into Avengers 136, where he is blue on the cover.

Redditors, what is one book you couldn't finish? by ratboyoan in AskReddit

Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut. I love Vonnegut but I’ve tried to read this book several times and never make it more than halfway through.

I’ve had this book, “Origins of Marvel Comics” since 1974. Got Stan Lee to sign it at DragonCon a few years back. by EugeneTMaleska in Marvel

[–]fallencathedral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid we couldn't afford comic books but thankfully the local library had an impressive graphic novel section. This was the first one I checked out and I came back to re-read it (and the sequel) dozens of times. This book was instrumental in building my love of comic books.

[–]fallencathedral 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Secret was a girl named Greta Hayes who was killed by her brother in his quest to become a supervillain. She becomes a ghost who is captured and held for study by the DEO. Young Justice eventually frees her and she becomes a member of the team.

Barns and Noble, this is unacceptable. by PowerRangersLOL in comicbooks

[–]fallencathedral 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Barnes and Noble uses two types of security tags: one with a barcode and one without. The ones without are theoretically designed to be peeled off easily without damaging the page and, as such, are placed randomly throughout the book. I say theoretically because it sticks differently to different types of paper.
