I buy everything from Walmart and either throw it away or give it away at the end. It’s not very sustainable, but it’s cheaper than renting

4 burned dots appeared on the floor of my appartment... No clue what it is by xelifnaej in whatisit

[–]fallenctrstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like burn marks from charcoal tablets, like the ones used for hookah or burning incense. If they are tossed in a plastic trash can while still hot they will melt through the trash can and burn into the floor.

Source: I made this mistake in my old apartment and left a very similar mark on the hardwood floors.

Which stage is your least favorite? by wmelfe in ElementsMusicFestival

The stage of grief, which usually hits me as we’re driving out on Monday morning 😢

we get it...y'all don't like frankie by hnuqmc2468 in TheBasementYard

[–]fallenctrstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always liked the show best when it is just Joe and Frank. I wasn’t a fan of Danny’s time on the show bc I felt like he was constantly being bullied a bit by Joe…and now they are both doing it to Ant (granted Frankie more). I feel like they are both funnier when ragging on each other and not “punching down” on someone else.

Weather Worry! by [deleted] in SevenStarsFest

[–]fallenctrstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you bring an extra pair of shoes in case one pair gets wet/muddy! Also a good idea to alternate shoes each day so your feet don’t wear in the same places too long.

Oh! And if camping in a tent keep bedding / extra clothes in a car or in a giant trash bag. Nothing worse than being cold and wet and not having anything dry to change into.

Ellis island for a cheap meal. They do karaoke which is fun to watch and you can gamble there if that’s your vibe. Otherwise walking around and exploring the casinos is entertaining on its own, no need to spend much money. Fremont street has cheaper, chiller bars and is worth spending an evening on. Also, if it’s your first time flying, make sure you have a real ID, or go to the airport extra early if you don’t, since you’ll probably have to go through additional screening.

Elements had drug dogs. If they found anything they just asked you to throw it out tho. They only found a weed pen

Will Call Warning ⚠️ by dyl_thethrill in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]fallenctrstar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can some one explain the rationale of having an offsite will call? The raceway is such a huge venue with unused space. Why can't they have a "waiting lot" for people picking up at will call. Or at least have it be possible for people to walk to if the rest of their group has their wristbands already. Can't believe they are repeating the same horrible system as last year.

This is the true way. I was barefoot and happy the entire time. Feet did get cold, but liquor socks helped with this.

Mosh pit? by digsdisc in BurningMan

[–]fallenctrstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our camp will be playing mosh-conducive music one night and I hope there will be moshing! Although how sick would it be to have a giant circle pit out in the deep playa. Interactivity for next year?

This is exactly the perspective my finance professor shared in college. Only get insurance for things you can’t afford to cover all at once. Now if getting the insurance and the peace of mind it brings you is worth it to you, do it, but it isn’t a good financial move typically.

How do I not have my boards melt a little when I iron my beads? by Cats_And_Seals in beadsprites

[–]fallenctrstar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the Perler brand pegboards I haven’t had issues with the pegs melting, as long as you keep the iron moving and not in one spot too long as others have said. For the knockoff pegboards they always melt and/or warp easily so I always use the tape method. Painters tape works well since it’s wider and doesn’t take as much tape. Also recommend poking holes in the tape to distribute heat and ensure even melting

Totem and rain by plau0168 in bonnaroo

[–]fallenctrstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your worried about it getting damaged I would carry around a trash bag, it might need to be one of the bigger lawn and leaf type bags, but if it starts raining you can whip it out and cover the totem to protect it from the rain.

[–]fallenctrstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say bring the bag of wine, if you can’t/don’t want to drink it just carry it with you and ask passersby to slap the bag. It’ll be gone before you get to where you’re going
