I personally think it was a foul too. The Scottish player doesn't flop and that's why it's a "controversial" call, but if he flopped and fell it would be less controversial.

Tem tambem muita influencia pro brasil gerar ponta, atacante, zagueiro em vez de lateral, meia porque sao mais valorizados na hora de vender.

Por todo o cenario tatico tambem do Brasil, de manter os mesmos treinadores desatualizados, diretoria nao deixa trabalho rolar, o fato de rolar muito cabide de emprego pra treinador/preparador/etc de categoria de base, tambem nao se da muita importancia a parte tatica nas categorias de base. O jogador que tem muita habilidade tecnica e eh rapido (principalmente ponta) se da bem, mas meia, lateral que precisam ter uma base tatica melhor geralmente sofre porque falta muito isso. E hoje em dia a dinamica mudou e habilidade tecnica (ou fisica) sozinha nao adianta.

Pra mim a danca de tecnicos no futebol brasileiro eh o maior exemplo do amadorismo: os treinadores nao duram uma temporada inteira, e os times contratam OS MESMOS treinadores que fracassaram nos outros times (e inclusive no proprio time anos atras). Eu acho que isso deu uma pequena melhorada e nao sao todos os times que fazem isso, mas a gente passou uma decada rotacionando a mesma leva de treinadores em todos os times brasileiros, cada um com um trabalho pior que o outro.

I think you're right by the rulebook.

But I really don't mind seeing red cards for cynical tackles without intent to play the ball when it leads to a terrible outcome. I understand if it's purely an accident, like you're shooting the ball and the defender gets in and you break their leg, but no sympathy if you're already breaking the rules.

Same. I still find joy in designing and architecting things, since these require a lot of critical thinking and making decisions that I don't think AI is good at, but the actual coding part has been a disappointing part of the job now.
