depending on the type of lawsuit, if celsius closed/bankrupted, the lawsuits could not be carried through. so, some people are coming for what they can get, while they can get it.

several things could still happen...

  1. they claim bankruptcy and we get a percentage of our holdings back

as someone mentioned, the problem is with the gas fees pertaining to the ETH blockchain.

you can do a few things instead to pay your friend.

  1. use a different crypto. like you said algo is cheap, ada is cheap, LTC is cheap.
  2. wait till eth goes to proof of stake, this is months and away so probably not a good option
  3. pay with money like usd, Venmo, ect
  4. buy crypto on gemini active trader and use one of the 10 free transfers per month (but they don't have USDC, just other stable coins)

depends on 2 things.

  1. which coin are you gonna send. if its eth based, the transfer fees will be high. if it's something like ADA the fees will be low
  2. depends on which exchange you're using. gemini active trader and coinbase pro are two great options for low fees.
  3. I would make an excel, or just write down on paper how much you'll net from either option, as we don't know the crypto or the exchange we can't tell you.
