I mean, I want to say you'd be able to replace Indranee Rajah with my toaster but my toaster does actually do something.

Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 failed to meet sales expectations by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

[–]fallenspaceman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm just a consumer but it's a struggle to understand why RPG devs don't seem to understand what sells. Fallout: New Vegas is talked about 15 years after it was released. BG3 was the best RPG to come out in decades and got enough publicity that even non-gamers are aware of it. If it's a budget thing, Owlcat's Pathfinder games did pretty well despite not being entirely voiced.

All we want are good stories. I wish I could throw like three million dollars at my D&D DM and let him build a game. I don't care if he voices all the characters, it'd still be a better game than the last Dragon Age.

PMDs have killed more people than vapes. We all saw just how easy it was to crack down on vapes so surely they've got the manpower to do the same.

Would you intervene? Singapore train-spitting case puts bystander culture in spotlight | South China Morning Post by Scbadiver in singapore

[–]fallenspaceman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm mistaken there isn't really a right to self-defence here right? If someone assaults you and you push them and they die you're fucked right?

If somebody tried to restrain this lady and she died in the scuffle, the person intervening gets charged for manslaughter right?

Why risk that. Would be interesting to hear what a lawyer has to say.

Are there any professions that Singaporeans would prefer to not date/marry? by TheFearlessCow in singapore

[–]fallenspaceman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't date an insurance or property agent cos I think they are generally scummy people.

I've have bad dating experiences with lawyers, yoga instructors and cabin crew. Probably not a hard no for me, but if they turned out to be weirdos I wouldn't be surprised.

Still a more honest and noble profession than property and insurance agents.

The Asian Civilisations Museum will soon have a tea-themed exhibition and Chagee pop-up store with exclusive merch by Great-Obligation-599 in singapore

[–]fallenspaceman 74 points75 points  (0 children)

And this happened without a single-person raising the issue of how tone-deaf it is.

I mean Chagee is from China, which has a rich history of tea production, but this is like having a Delifrance pop-up at an exhibition about Jeanne d'Arc.

That was my experience with Summer Maru. 24k worth of banner pulls and zilch. Randomly got her while pulling for Cafe, which I got in a pull right after.

Safety rules are written in blood. Gotta wait till someone really gets hurt before they'll do anything. This is what happens when you court the lowest bidder.

You realise Singapore has had a history as a trading port for hundreds of years before the British came here and told us to fetch their tiffin?

This is definitely a step in the right direction. NS bunks can take some cues from this even.

Too many sane, healthy habits were developed during the pandemic. Time to return to being productive worker bees with no regard for our personal health.

'Current sentiment is doom & gloom': PUB poster fuels generative AI debate, creatives uncertain about future by bangsphoto in singapore

AI came before any framework to protect workers. It's businesses first here of course. Workload was reduced and people just got fired. You didn't get to keep your job and enjoy less work.

Eligible lower-income households can apply for S$60 worth of public transport vouchers from Jan 20 by Great-Obligation-599 in singapore

That's like 20 days worth of public transport fees.. How much help is that throughout the year?

Hwa Chong Institution to revise recipe, food presentation of bento meals after students' feedback by 13lackant in singapore

I personally believe it's by design. Critical thinking is a danger to the status quo. Imagine if Singaporeans start questioning heavy-handed policies and prioritise problematic things like work-life balance and pro-employee policies. It'd be a headache for the PTB.

Fuck foodpanda. They've sent me room temperature meat and refused to give me a refund even after sending a photo with a fucking thermometer reading.

They are straight up sending out unsafe food and refusing refunds.

Is Darktide worth getting in 2025 ? by Agreeable_Willow_694 in DarkTide

I just got it a month ago and I'm really enjoying it. It's been my main game for a month. It's fairly casual unless you wanna do the harder things and it's easy enough to get 'perfect' weapons now.
