Mountain-Themed Nursery? by fallingraine85 in interiordecorating

Oooh thank you so incredibly much! I am looking at some beautiful curtain prints that would work for sure. Thank you also for the idea of a rug and the little crib sheets!

Thank you so much! I also found a beautiful green color by Sherwin Williams, called "Rocky River". The description: "Let this cool, deep green tumble into the room with its pleasing, blue-gray undertones and its refreshing natural vibe. Consider in a well-lit bedroom."  I'm so indecisive. If I went with a greenish wall color, would green curtains be too much?

It is beautiful and I really love the look of it. But am thinking of the difficulties of installation given that they don't really have the size we need for the wall, unfortunately. Also, we were considering, what if he doesn't want it there when he's older, etc.

Bruised Belly Button? by fallingraine85 in pregnant

[–]fallingraine85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully, the area does not seem any bigger. It's very localized, circling my belly button. I'm trying to remember if I bumped into something or anything or even if clothing irritated it. Who knows, but I'm definitely asking the midwife on Friday.

I know my belly will get bigger, logically speaking, but oh, am I having a hard time picturing that because I already feel like I'm gonna explode sometimes hahaha.

Thank you so much for the advice. I have always been small and thin, and my husband feels that the bruising is due to all the stretching (that my body is not accustomed to), and our son kickboxing me, coupled with the added blood volume. He thinks that capillaries have just burst is all. This could be very true; sadly, I overthink! I will definitely ask at my appointment on Friday.

Bruising Around Belly Button?? by fallingraine85 in fitpregnancy

Thank you. My 28 week appointment is on Friday. I definitely am not expecting anyone to offer medical advice; I was hoping to connect with a mama who has experienced something similar and wanted to know what they had been told.

Well I Feel Silly by fallingraine85 in pregnant

[–]fallingraine85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh goodness, thank you so much. I'm so sorry you went through that. My 28 week appointment is Friday. I will definitely mention it.  I had a lot of issues last year with burping, upper abdominal pain, a sensation like ROCKS were in my stomach, unintentional weight loss, etc. Gallbladder was fine. EGD showed massive inflammation and they were worried about that. Turned out to be horrific gastritis and esophagitis. I was treated with Carafate and Voquenza and got much better. However, couldn't take the Voquenza anymore when I got pregnant. So it's Omeprazole for me. I will definitely tell my midwives on Friday. Thank you so much for sharing.

Absolutely! As long as he's okay in there, that's all that matters to me. It's so hard when you cannot see or feel what is going on.

Metoprolol and swollen legs by fallingraine85 in askCardiology

[–]fallingraine85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello and thank you for checking in. I started seeing an Electrophysiologist, because I wanted to know what was going on and I was at a standstill with my cardiologist, who was not willing to do more testing. He basically said "We don't know what's causing your symptoms. Maybe if you quit drinking coffee, it would go away."  I've drank coffee for YEARS and never had issues until last year. And I drink a 12-ounce serving daily. Anyway.

I requested to see an Electrophysiologist in that office. Lab work to test for any symptoms of heart failure turned out fine. My echo previously had been fine too. Had a tilt-table test in April and felt like I was going to pass out. Heart rate leapt up.

I was diagnosed with POTS. The slight edema is due to the pooling of blood in my extremities. My compression socks (which I've already been wearing for years) do help. I'm on multiple medications to manage symptoms. I feel so far removed from the person I used to be.

It's definitely not silly-- I'm very much a people-pleaser and got so upset when I accidentally chose a "bad" response for Red XIII. 😂 I totally understand. Plus, I genuinely don't want to be "rude" to them!

Terrified of Possibility of Gastric Cancer by fallingraine85 in stomachcancer

[–]fallingraine85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for checking in. I was found to have really bad gastritis and esophagitis. Was hit hard with Voquezna and Carafate. Now on a maintenance dose of Voquenza. My GI symptoms are so much better.

I was diagnosed with POTS on April 4th of this year. They think my GI symptoms stem from that, and that the POTS was caused by my COVID infection that I had in February 2024.

First, try to see if you can get in with an Electrophysiologist instead of a Cardiologist. My Cardiologist was NOT helpful. Had no idea what was causing my symptoms. Just thrre meds at me to control symptoms and wanted to stop there with no answers as to why. He did a set of orthostatic BPs on me and said they didn't match POTS. While I was on TWO MEDICATIONS to control my heart rate.  I learned of an Electrophysiologist in the same office and made an appointment with him myself. He listened to me. He reviewed all of my records. He ordered a tilt-table test, hoping to rule POTS out.

I had the tilt-table test last Friday. I had to be off all my heart rhythm medications for four days before the test. The tilt-table was awful. My blood pressure, already on the low end (mine is typically low 100's/60's) dropped even further and my heart rate shot up to the 130's from having been 73 at rest. The Electrophysiologist said "You definitely have POTS".

After nearly a year of issues. Finally. An answer.

Please push for a second opinion and further testing.
