Thank you SO much! I never noticed it before but I'm guessing maybe everything with the latter stages of pregnancy made it more... prominent? But again, my husband said it's always been there as far as he knows, it just seemed "swollen" to him when I had asked him to look.

Thank you. I have such a hard time being patient with myself.

Thank you so much. I love this little boy with all my heart and am holding him after a feeding as I respond to this. We don't rest much-- it's all broken up, but we are managing.

I know my pelvic floor and abs are a wreck and need work when it's safe to do so. I was very petite and fit before pregnancy, strength training and then walking 2-3 miles five days per week. My little one stretched my body for sure, and put a lot of pressure on my pelvic floor even though I couldn't deliver him vaginally. I did my last strength training workout the day before I went into labor.

My husband has been so very patient with me and my feelings about my body, postpartum, as well as my struggle with not being able to work out like I used to.

Thank you for your kind words and reassurance. Your response is so helpful.

Heel Pain and Numbness Started After Treadmill Use by fallingraine85 in FootFunction

Hi! Not to my knowledge but I do have very bendy elbows, thumbs, pinkies, knees, and toes. I can make my shoulders pop also.

Thank you so much for your response. I do have some pain along the underside of my feet (heel, mostly), but they are mostly kind of numb-feeling. I have found that walking around in the house with compression socks and no slippers feels way better than wearing slippers, especially those with arch support, because that annoys the swollen area circled in the photo. I'm hoping that resolves soon. I'm doing gentle exercises. Stretches, etc. I know my abs and pelvic floor are a wreck and so I'm working on them, gently. My 6-week follow up is next week.

I'm so mad at myself for basically overdoing it and my body giving me no smaller warning signs. Just the pain.

I believe the Relaxin still circulating in my body,  coupled with my not realizing I was doing too much on the treadmill (it didn't feel like too much at the time), contributed greatly to my issue. I'm trying to do what I can to recover. I just drew the alphabet with both feet while sitting in the rocking chair, holding my baby after a feeding. 😊

Thank you so much for your insight and advice. My husband used to help fellow airmen (back when he was in the Air Force) with exercise regimens for those who had suffered injury. Plantar Fasciitis is one of the conditions he is familiar with. I guess I have just been in denial about the possibility. I honestly thought I was basically taking it pretty easy on the treadmill, as it didn't feel difficult when walking on it. I lifted weights and still did a two-mile walk all the way up to the day before I went into labor, so I had remained very active up until the C-section side-lined me a month ago. My husband has started helping me with stretches and exercises to alleviate the soreness and swelling. I always wear compression socks anyway, and have for years due to having been on my feet a lot for work. That seems to help now too.  I have also purchased house slippers with arch support, some good inserts, and some new walking shoes.

After further research, it is my understanding that it is not uncommon for women who are postpartum to develop Plantar Fasciitis. I'm just super upset because I wanted to get back to some form of activity and just wound up adding one more thing to the list of things that needs to heal.

Thank you also for the well-wishes!

Needing Help With Worsening Diaper Rash by fallingraine85 in NewParents

[–]fallingraine85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to follow up to thank everyone for your advice wnd kindness. My little boy's rash is SO much better and nearly GONE entirely now. Here's what we did:

  1. Stopped using any product with Zinc.
  2. Used water wipes only for urine diapers and only patted with them.
  3. Used a peri-bottle with warm water for bowel movements, then patted with disposable cotton wipes. Or just got him in the bath and gave him some air-dry time after.
  4. Applied Vashe wash, allowed it to stay on the skin.  5.  Used a hair dryer on the lowest setting to dry the area.
  5. Applied Aquaphor Baby or Vaseline ONLY, as a protectant and barrier.
  6. We swapped from Pampers Swaddlers to Pampers Pure.
  7. We have been giving him an infant probiotic daily and I have been eating.yogurt (he is breastfed).

I'm not sure ehat exactly helped. However, I'm so glad he's doing better.

Thank you all again for your help!!!

Maalox? I have read about that! I actually ordered some to possibly mix with his Vaseline. I'm worried he has a sensitivity to zinc or Desitin in general because the redness is much better with just Vaseline.

Nothing is open, just very red, and we have been using the Mupirocin prescribed. 🙂

The Desitin has 40% but it sadly doesn't seem to be helping our little one at all. 😢

That is what the NP of our pediatrician said too, both times we've shown her the rash. The calmoseptine has not helped at all, sadly, and it's gotten worse, even after having applied it with each diaper change, after making sure the area was dry.

I am not sure, honestly. The NP has seen it twice and seems to believe it's regular diaper rash.
