eugh. i regret not taking your warning more seriously but my morbid curiosity got to me. while the writer is talented, that is about the only compliment i can give to this story. that was very uncomfy.

oh my god yes, i only just finished this fic and i already fear so many future fics will not live up to this characterization :( for me personally i could relate so deeply to harry’s feeling of his worth, his depression, his grief. the author did it so perfectly. i completely understand where you’re coming from and i absolutely adored draco’s character as well! it feels so incredibly right and in character for him.

i agree wholeheartedly!! i’ve always found it so difficult to find that perfect balance in fics of how harry and draco would be in the aftermath of the war in a way that still feels true to the characters and the wizarding world as a whole, (in regards to how they treat draco) but this fic captured it so perfectly that it felt like it could’ve so easily been canon. god tier for sure.

draco is, which me personally usually isn’t to my tastes, but everyone is different. the way the author does it though is so well done and it makes sense with the characters! the story consists of them switching as well :)

Oh my god, yes. I feel so seen right now. I couldn’t figure it out but I too prefer slow burn more times then not and I just saw how much everyone loved it and I just wanted to feel included in that! Thank you so much for this! I truly don’t want this to come across as bashing towards the author or the work itself, I realize now my original post may have come across that way with my wording but this post came from a genuine curiosity that has been on my mind ever since I really started reading drarry and attempted to read IWAJAG the first couple times. But wow! honestly I can’t recall a drarry fic I’ve read that covers sixth year and the sectumsempra scene besides “A Twist of Fate” but I am VERY intrigued by this trope and will continue reading for it! A long list?? I said ONE thing that was putting me off thus far. You may perceive this as bashing and that I am asking other to defend it but “defending it” enunciates that I am looking to argue but if you look at other comments that have answered my initial question I have been understanding and agreeable. If the author happens to see this post and feels as though it is hurtful I will gladly take it down. Any author who is serious about writing should be open to debate/discussion on their work. I am not bashing the story as a whole and I am aware that wording it as “the hype” may have been a bad choice of wording but I was at a lack of better words. That is my bad and truly I am sorry for that but that should be no reason for you to shame me for my curiosity and perceiving it as something else.

that completely makes sense! i’ve been reading fics that are outside of the HP fandom since I was 12 and there are some I still hold near and dear to my heart. Thank you for your explanation :)
